Summary
This is a unique opportunity to bring your leadership, operating experience and supply chain depth to the North American business. The VP Supply Chain - North America leads all aspects of the North American supply chain, including the San Francisco-based Operations group (demand and supply planning, customer service and project management) as well as the Chicago-based manufacturing and logistics group (aka the South Side Soap Box, our 150Ksqft self-manufacturing and distribution center located in the historic Pullman district on the South Side of Chicago). Located in San Francisco and sitting on the NA Leadership Team, this role reports to the Vice President Supply Chain - Global.
Responsibilities
**Functional Supply Chain Leadership:** * Provide key supply chain inputs to the regional operating plan and multi-year strategy and drive execution through the supply chain * Develop and cascade regional strategy and priorities. Ensure the team is aligned on vision, objectives and goals - own the regional supply chain KPI's * Lead and prioritize gross margin and cost initiatives - manage all aspects of Cost Of Goods Sold and make vs buy analysis strategy * Partner with sales on all aspects of service and customer-facing supply chain initiatives. Leverage our supply chain as a competitive advantage from a flexibility, responsiveness and sustainability perspective * Develop, and ensure visibility to, the holistic internal and external capacity strategy (production, distribution, logistics) * Lead the capital investment strategy for supply chain, providing ROI, NPV and business rationale for investment and payback periods * Act as an innovation and supply chain sustainability champion - ensure growth and sustainability strategy is fully represented within the supply chain **Regional leadership:** * Member of the NA leadership team, accountable for all aspects of the regional business * Educate and develop NA Leadership Team to maximize the benefits of self-manufacturing and distribution * Key business integrator between Finance, General Management and Product Experience and Supply Chain * Represent Supply Chain in the NA strategy and business to ensure that Supply Chain capability and capacity is appropriate to meet financial targets * Ensure global initiatives and best practices are cascaded and prioritized appropriately within the region **People leadership and development:** * Partner with People + Environment, to lead regional people strategy and approach for supply chain to ensure access to the best talent * Lead all aspects of regional supply chain talent management, including people development, capability building and succession planning (including location strategy) * Work reception once a month
Ideal Candidate
The ideal candidate is a natural operator and based on the needs of the business, entirely at home as both a player and a coach in the supply chain. You are process-oriented and use judgment to leverage process for efficiency, agility and consistency. You posses a natural inclination toward the role of integrator and collaborator and work seamlessly both within the supply chain function to ensure alignment and common goals as well as with your partners in finance, general management and product experience to ensure on-time, on-cost and on-quality launches. * 15+ years of supply chain, manufacturing and operating experience in the Consumer Products industry * Experience in functional and business strategic planning. Predicting needs and risk mitigation strategies to enable profit and growth objectives within the region. * Experience servicing retail replenishment models and drug, mass, club and ecomm channels and related strategies * Outstanding people leadership and organizational development track record * Knowledge of EDI, ERP systems, and logistics systems; SAP experience a huge plus * Superior problem solving skills and a natural curiosity relating to creative/alternate strategies within supply chain * Excellent oral and written communication skills * Understanding of system and process across functions, specifically sales, inventory planning and supply chain * Experience within capital and investment planning, and ensuring aligned investment plans within the supply chain * Strong influencing skills and proven ability to advocate for the needs of the regional supply chain a relates to stability, capability and resources
