Summary
Corbion is seeking a Production Supervisor for the Totowa plant who embodies our behaviors of Set Clear Direction, Make the Difference, Focus on Customers and Deliver Through Teamwork. As our Production Supervisor you will be based in the Totowa plant and will report to the Operations Manager. This position will focus on providing leadership to the hourly production and sanitation staff to achieve daily production goals. The Production Supervisor is part of a team of shift supervisors who work together to accomplish and maintain high levels of performance and quality in the food manufacturing facility. Responsible for safety, quality, productivity, consistency and people development.
Responsibilities
* Coordinate with Maintenance, Quality and Supply Chain supervisors to ensure production is on schedule * Supervise all aspects of the production and sanitation processes and support master GMP and sanitation list * Provide quality audit support and communicate quality assurance needs * Assign personnel to specific jobs * Develop and establish defined goals and achieve those results with the plant workforce * Identify high performance individuals and help with succession planning * Ensure goals are met safely and that workforce is operating within safety guidelines * Insure correct materials are used in the manufacturing process and that standard operational procedures are being followed * Inspect equipment for cleanliness * Supervise the blender and kettle operators and packers in all aspects of their duties * Perform additional tasks as required to accomplish goals
Ideal Candidate
In addition to your educational achievements on a Bachelor’s degree, the successful candidate must also have: * Two plus (2+) years in a Manufacturing Supervisor role within the food industry * Ability to motivate and instruct employees as well as administer discipline as necessary * An understanding of union rules and policies and lead a union workforce * Strong food processing, GMP and OSHA knowledge * Knowledge of ERP and ADP systems * Willingness to work second or third shift with occasional weekend shifts Competencies: Leadership, communications and interpersonal skills. Ability to handle multiple tasks and prioritize working capabilities.
