Summary
The Human Resource Manager is the lead position on the H.R. team that manages the human resource and organizational development activities for the Timken Drives LLC manufacturing business. Responsibilities encompass both operational and strategic HR and organizational development activities, including but not limited to maintaining positive associate relations, consulting with the global business on organization design and effectiveness, leading culture change, driving performance management and talent management processes, team building, conducting strategic manpower planning and associate development. This position reports to Director – Timken Drives Business and has 2 direct H.R. generalist direct reports and a part-time contingent occupational nurse.
Responsibilities
* Serve as an integral member and partner of the Timken Drives business team for operations in Fulton IL, consulting with the leadership team on the development and execution of H.R. strategy for the group. * Deliver HR and organizational development services for Fulton site in the following areas: * Strategy: * Develop and execute Fulton facility HR strategy aligned with market strategy; * Develop a strategic workforce plan for all groups with development and staffing plans; * Change Management: * Assess need for and deliver organizational effectiveness initiatives using the team effectiveness model and 7S; * Facilitate change management, coaching leaders on organizational design and effectiveness; * Assess and build bench strength, driving application of Leadership Pipeline concepts; * Be knowledgeable of Safety and Employment compliance standards related to the business; * Develop and maintain a plant-wide communication plan; * Associate Advocacy: * Coach leaders and associates on H.R. policies and practices; * Drive performance management (including disciplinary action) and talent management processes; * Drive positive associate relations within the organization; * Ensure that effective associate relations are maintained through consistent application of plant and corporate policies as well as governmental law; * HR Systems/Services: * Develop recruiting and retention strategies for key roles and execute staffing plans; * Direct/counsel Fulton Team on compensation, job descriptions, job titles, and internal associate movement; * Manage the selection, placement, and record-keeping of full time, part time, and contingent personnel and ensure compliance with Affirmative Action requirements for diversity in the workforce. * Support the completion of strategic enterprise-wide H.R. initiatives, such as staffing process redesign or Leadership Pipeline implementation.
Ideal Candidate
**Education** * Required: Bachelor Degree in Business, Social Sciences, H.R. * Preferred: Masters of Business in H.R., Organizational Development or related discipline **Experience Required:** * Bachelor: 8 yrs. Minimum/12 yrs. Preferred in human resource generalist role or organizational development role in manufacturing setting * Master’s: 5 yrs. Minimum/8 yrs. Preferred in human resource generalist role or organizational development role in manufacturing setting **Certifications:** PHR or SPHR certification desirable **Other:** * Talent management and succession planning for a manufacturing location * Familiar with all compliance laws and practices * Training and development experience * Demonstrated excellent communication skills and proficiency in Microsoft Office suite
