Summary
This position is critical in: helping the company establish a positive image in the community, building networks of candidates, and developing creative, cost-effective sourcing strategies.
Responsibilities
* Recruits, interviews and recommends placement of internal and external candidates to fill open production positions. Uses creative sourcing techniques for external candidates such as the internet , job fairs, cold calling, networking, and trade schools and community colleges to generate qualified candidates. Perform recruiting activities, including but not limited to, social media recruiting, job board recruiting, networking, and direct sourcing. * Qualifies and prescreens candidate, both internal and external, to insure initial qualification match. Works with department management to identify talent and appropriate staffing needs. * Extends offers to candidates. Coordinates all pre-employment and placement paperwork for new candidates. * Develops and maintains working relationships with job fair personnel and other external groups in order to source appropriate candidates. * Assists with the development of policies and procedures to attract, retain and promote a diverse workforce for the organization. Helps create an environment where not only diverse people recruited into the organization but both the company and the individual work together to develop a mutually beneficial relationship. Helps to shape organizations culture and systems to ensure that all people are given the opportunity to contribute to the business goals of the company. * Keep abreast of new businesses within the company and make timely initial contact with departments in regards to recruiting needs. * Follow-up on all candidate leads from growing and utilizing sources within the company. * Conduct thorough interviews, background investigations and testing to maintain a pool of associates at all times. * Regularly contact existing clients for the purpose of making them aware of the availability of skilled employees. * Use the prescribed recruiting tools in sales and marketing efforts: Requisitions, Employment Applications, New-Hire Paperwork, the automated system, etc. * Analyze competitive activity and know the strengths and areas of opportunity of our competition to assist in the recruiting process. * Become familiar with and adhere to the policies and procedures as outlined in the Employee Handbook and Recruiter Manual. * Assist in developing branding strategies to increase company attractiveness for hire. * Participate in civic and professional organizations for the purpose of developing recruiting leads. * Be an essential part of influencing decisions regarding recruiting processes and systems. * Oversee placement of job postings (internal, job boards, newspapers, etc.), resume collection and initial review. Conduct phone and/or preliminary interviews. Coordinate final interview schedules with appropriate managers. * Prepare necessary business correspondence, including letters to applicants. Follow-up with all candidates or recruiters on our hiring decisions. * Maintain extensive applicant tracking database and appropriate sections of company Intranet/Internet. * Maintain good relationships with area schools and coordinate on-campus presentations and interviews. * Thorough knowledge of all relevant federal and state laws that govern recruitment and selection decisions (i.e., interviewing, reference checking, etc.).
Ideal Candidate
**Minimum Qualifications:** * Must have a Bachelor’s degree in Human Resources, Business Administration or related field, or equivalent combination of education and experience. * 3+ years of related experience **Preferences:** * 5-8+ years of progressively more responsible related experience. * Recruiter certification a plus. **Required Knowledge, Skills & Abilities:** * Expertise in Full Cycle recruiting. * Strong Human Resources background. * Proven ability to review and analyze data to make sound business decisions. * Ability to communicate effectively (written and verbally) with internal and external customers while handling multiple priorities * Proficient in use of Microsoft Office products, specifically Word, Excel and PowerPoint create presentations and reports * Comfortable with use of database management tools. * Analytical skills to independently evaluate and develop possible solutions to situations, applying knowledge of specialty area and use of sound judgment; determines when rigor is necessary and proper course of action. * Plans for alternatives for unusual circumstance; assesses risk factors; modifies and adapts systems; and deviates from schedules, as necessary. * Recognizes limitations and seeks advice/counsel in unforeseen instances. * Written and verbal communication skills and oral presentation skills to interpret information based on a general knowledge of the organization, its products, and/or procedures and provide an independent explanation and discussion based on the technical or complex nature of the materials being discussed. * Adept at resolving fundamental issues. * Customer service skills to promote and support a service-oriented environment and encourage others to improve and refine their service actions. * Measures personal success by customers’ achievements. * Acts as a resource to internal customers in identifying and solving customer issues. In-depth understanding and demonstrated competency in working with computer software and mainframe applications in order to manipulate, analyze, and reconcile data. * In-depth knowledge of Internet applications in order to retrieve and post data and research information.
