Summary
The Program Manager for the Learning Systems develops and drives the strategic vision of VWR’s global Learning Management System (LMS) for the global organization. As the subject matter expert on the LMS, the Program Manager for the Learning Systems acts as a consultant for the organization in benchmarking, recommending and scoping new projects or initiatives. The Program Manager for the Learning Systems does this by demonstrating a deep understanding of all components, features, and functions of the LMS and an ability to translate these into business learning solutions. The Program Manager for the Learning Systems leads efforts to configure and optimize the LMS in support of global training initiatives by providing technical support to the day-to-day and ongoing operations, maintenance, and administration of the LMS. The Program Manager for the Learning Systems oversees one indirect report and interfaces cross functionally with multiple stakeholders.
Responsibilities
* Manage the design, contract administration, and tracking of VWR learning programs through the global Learning Management System (LMS). Partner with HR Business Partners and business unit management/training teams to ensure learning program administration and delivery requirements are fully understood and implemented systematically. * Understand and leveraging current digital learning platforms and tools to develop training content. Communicate industry-leading learning practices and approaches to business leaders and HR colleagues. * Apply adult learning theories, instructional design and facilitation principles, and business-impact training metrics. Continuously increase knowledge and skills in the talent development specialty area and proactively share learning with HR colleagues. * Develop and maintain taxonomy of learning content and system data standards that align with LMS functionality, configuration and process requirements; provide consultative support to business unit training teams with the design and structuring of learning content and curricula. * Oversee LMS governance, partnering with business unit training resources around governance issues that may arise, and ensuring that all governance-related documentation is up to date. This includes regular review of posted content with subject matter experts at scheduled intervals. * Responsible for ensuring all learner data and information in the learning management system meets regulatory requirements, good documentation practices, and is stored in a manner that can be retrieved quickly and efficiently when needed during daily operations. Protects confidentiality of data and intellectual property; ensures compliance with data privacy regulations and requirements. * Develop and maintain standard and customized learning data reports and analytics, providing qualitative and quantitative analysis on ad-hoc basis. This position will be the in-house expert on LMS reporting capabilities, and remain abreast of product and industry trends regarding the LMS and online learning. * Research, diagnose, and identify solutions to resolve end user learner issues related to LMS use, design and configuration; investigate and resolve any potential data or system inconsistencies or discrepancies; interface with system vendor support to track escalated issues and resolutions. * Create and maintain technical and process documentation, including instructions and user guides; provide training to end users, administrators, and others who interact with the LMS; assist with the creation and maintenance of department intranet website content. * Oversee one indirect report.
Ideal Candidate
**Experience & Skills:** * Demonstrated knowledge and competency with learning management systems and learning authoring tools (Articulate, Captivate, etc.) and standards (SCORM and AICC). * Proficiency and experience in managing data and reporting capabilities required. * Demonstrated capability to manage multiple projects in a fast paced, high volume, deadline driven environment. * Advanced computer proficiency in Microsoft Office (Word, Excel and PowerPoint required). * Strong analytical and critical thinking problem solving capability, with an orientation towards continuous process improvement and innovation. * Customer Focused with effective oral, written communications skills and demonstrated track record of success within Training and Development field. * Collaboration and Team oriented * Strong conceptual, creative, and quantitative skills are required to work in project management environment. * Experience in e-learning content development and design. **Qualifications:** * 5 to 8 years experience in learning systems, and 3 years with database and system administration using cloud-based learning technology platforms. * BA/BS degree in Education, Instructional Technology, Human Resources, or Business preferred, or equivalent experience required; Master’s Degree a plus. * Experience with Cornerstone OnDemand LMS preferred * Experience with Workday a plus * Experience working in a global/multi-national organization preferred. **Environmental Working Conditions & Physical Effort:** * Typically works in an office with adequate lighting and ventilation and a normal range of temperature and noise level. * Work assignments are diversified. Examples of past precedent are used to resolve work problems. New alternatives may be developed to resolve problems. * A frequent volume of work and deadlines impose strain on routine basis. * Minimal physical effort is required. Work is mostly sedentary but does require walking, standing, bending, reaching, lifting or carrying objects that typically weigh less than 10 lbs.
