Summary
The Product Manager is an individual contributor responsible for supporting the Regional Business Director by functioning as a product line steward for their assigned product lines. The Product Manager is responsible for identifying, defining and managing priorities for products in the region. The Product Manager must be flexible and work collaboratively with both the internal and external stakeholders.
Responsibilities
* Manage the Product Review process (changes to the product line in the region) * Create and communicate new product sales plan via input from marketing and sales team. * Create and communicate product line consolidation and rationalization plans. * Perform tactical coordination of new product set up. * Provide key input into pilot plant prioritization * Own the Product Change Management Process for the regional business * Facilitate change management and risk analysis discussions * Lead customer communication related to product line change and operational matters * Specification, COA, or testing changes * Product line changes, regardless of reason for change * Manage regulatory driven product line changes and reformulations. * Perform product line and new business analysis * Product line standard profitability, complexity cost analysis (impact on working capital and other operating costs) * New product sales profitability * New product / marketing project success rate, comparison to projections * Manage product line information and support product selection for new opportunities * Maintain and improve product guide * Improve the product selection and recommendation process * Coordinate positioning of service offering for products not produced in the region * Share accountability for regional OI performance and overall operating efficiency * Follow-up on all MA inventory to ensure it is sold as planned. * Work with supply chain and manufacturing to optimize service with working capital cost/risk. * Identify and execute product line actions that can improve operating efficiency and working capital turnover. * Work closely with the Global Product Manager and other Regional Product Managers * Collaborate with the Global Product team on those changes which occur in the region which could have an impact elsewhere * Manage product changes in the region which come from the global product line strategy (e.g.. product line simplification, regulatory changes, global platform implementation, production moves) * Manage the codes and standards program * Other projects as assigned by the Regional Business Director
Ideal Candidate
* Bachelors degree (Technical required – Chemistry discipline preferred) from an accredited university * Minimum 3 years experience in production, supply chain environment, and / or product management or minimum 3 years commercial experience, including sales, marketing, or business development * Minimum 3 years experience working with external customers, in sales, marketing, customer service, or technical project roles * Demonstrated ability to plan projects, analyze information, and execute to achieve agreed upon results * Ability to travel domestically and internationally
