Summary
Based in downtown Chicago, the Division Director of Products and Segments will report directly to the Northern Division General Manager. The incumbent will manage a team focused on executing targeted market programs to deliver business growth and product mix shift. The Division Director of Products and Segments is responsible for partnering with the centralized product and segment managers, Sales Teams, marketing, National Strategic Accounts, research and development, and supply chain to deliver effective and efficient execution of corporate strategies aligned with divisional goals and priorities.The best person for this position is creative, persuasive, has a take-charge attitude and a proven track record of driving programs/projects to the stated objectives. A successful Director is a self-starter with the ability to identify opportunities for improvement, evaluate relevant options and execute appropriate solutions. They operate with minimal direction, a sense of urgency, and strong accountability for their results. They will have an analytical mindset – eager to review data and evaluate trends and opportunities. The best person will bring new concepts to James Hardie and educate us to help us improve and implement best practices.
Responsibilities
* Manage the Division Product and Segment team (team consists of 2 product managers, but will grow to a full team of 5) * Evaluate market data and trends to design and execute targeted programs to align with business goals * Use market knowledge and customer feedback to assist in developing market and product strategy * Participate on Division Leadership Team to drive organization forward towards business goals
Ideal Candidate
* Bachelor's Degree in Sales, Marketing, Business, or related field (MBA or Master's degree in Marketing preferred) * 6 or more years' experience in sales product management or business development * 2 or more years' experience as a manager * Proven success in planning and managing at both the strategic and operational level * Highly motivated and self-directed, organized individual with a demonstrated ability to be detail oriented, strategically focused and operate in a fast-paced, evolving organization * Ability to operate effectively and develop partnerships in a cross functional environment * Excellent communication skills, partnering and influence skills * Demonstrated ability to develop team * Ability to travel domestically (50%)
