Fluidigm is looking for a Business Development Specialist (Global Pharma and Clinical Trials Alliances- North America-East Region) to identify, qualify, and establish partnerships and alliances within the Global Pharma Market Segment. He/She will focus on partnerships that implement instruments accessories, consumables and kitted offerings/solutions in line with the Company’s mission.

- Motivated to expand company’s reach and presence in global clinical trial networks
- Define and execute approaches that establish Fluidigm platforms and reagents in standard practices for BioPharma development activities
- Meet all established Company standards with respect to selling skills, product knowledge, account and territory penetration, competitive knowledge of market and competition
- Control, organize and direct the development of the business including meeting sales targets, accurate forecasting, achieving partnership milestones and budget/expense management
- Develop account and regional strategies, tactical sales plans, facilitate communication and specific activities (technical presentations, demonstrations, etc. for targeted accounts)
- Partner with marketing and sales management to identify, improve and implement sales tools and expansion in other areas of the market.
- Generate leads/opportunities and move the partnerships/opportunities through the sales cycle
- Maintain prospect and customer communication records in corporate CRM system
- Generate regular updates including updates in sales forecasts, lost order information, sales reports and miscellaneous issues relevant to revenue growth
- Drive and report regional market trends in the clinical and industrial segments and identify new market opportunities for both existing and future products that complement the current platform portfolio
- Travel within assigned territory as necessary to conduct field sales calls and related activities (minimum 50% travel)
- S. Degree in Life Sciences (i.e. Biochemistry, Chemistry, Biology, etc.) (Advanced degree preferred) and at least 5 years of successful field sales and/or business development experience in the Diagnostic and/or Therapeutic markets
- Experience in driving the adoption of technologies and platforms into applied markets and implementation into clinical practice (i.e. patient treatment decisions, clinical trial enrollment)
- Experience integrating and working with multiple disciplines (R&D, Product Development, Regulatory, Manufacturing and Corporate Development) to define and build solutions for specific applied markets preferred
- Knowledge and understanding of global and regional accreditation policies and production genomic requirements
