Summary
The overall purpose of this role is to identify new opportunities to grow the businesses in the Clean Air portfolio, which includes both existing and new markets. Key responsibilities include strategic marketing, new business development, price/margin strategies, market intelligence, as well as providing leadership to a marketing team comprised of product management and NBD professionals. Global Marketing Manager, Clean Air (1602814) You will work across organization boundaries to leverage internal collaboration opportunities and must be comfortable working across different sites, different cultures, and different time zones, and operating in a global business. You will regularly interact with functional groups include but are not limited to, supply chain, logistics, procurement, finance, customer care, and legal.
Responsibilities
* Lead Strategic Marketing * Develop the Clean Air business strategy, updating when necessary. * Identify strategic options to growth the business through in-depth market studies and analysis. Creating value proposition to differentiate our products and services. * Lead Product Marketing / Product Management * Develop and implement go-to-market strategies by industry. Develop and lead new product launch projects. * Work closely with Sales Team to support new customer identification and business development. Lead and develop marketing initiatives with a focus on long-term growth while maintaining short-term profits and sales objectives. * Be responsible for price and margin management of all product lines. Enabling Sales team to capture more value. Determine price floors in line with profitability targets, and identify value pricing opportunities in new products. * Lead marketing initiatives aimed at increasing market penetration, improving market share and profitability. * Lead New Business Development * Create framework and implement processes and systems to identify and monitor primary market drivers (regulations, emerging markets, value chain development, etc.); gather and analyze competitive intelligence to develop appropriate actions. * Manage the marketing team to scout, screen, and develop new business opportunities. Assists General Manager in target setting for new market opportunities. * Lead commercialization of new products and manage new product launch processes through close collaboration with R&D. * Leadership * Lead the Marketing Team, which also includes Product Managers and New Business Development Managers * Provide leadership as well as day-to-day management of activities. **Leadership Core Responsibilities:** * Coach and develop team members to reach their full potential * Support development assignments and movement of talent across units * Motivate and challenge to drive high performance * Commit to "hiring the best" internally and externally * Create an inclusive environment which embraces and derives value from diversity * Execute performance and career development discussions * Role model and enable development of competencies in others needed to implement BASF's strategy * Establish and support a safety culture in which all accidents are preventable
Ideal Candidate
**What We Look For in You…** * Minimum of Bachelor's Degree in Chemistry, Chemical Engineering, or related Technical Field required. * MBA, preferably with a focus in Marketing strong preference * Minimum of 10 years of industry experience, in a combination of these areas; Marketing, Sales, Strategy, Product Management, technical experience * Prior people management experience preferred **Additional Attributes** * 5+ years of marketing experience, preferably related to catalysts and sorbents, or in a B2B environment. * Excellent communication skills, interpersonal skills, problem solving, leadership, and organizational skills preferred. Experience working in a global and matrix environment * A strong understanding of customer requirements and market dynamics. * Experience of developing, maintaining and delivering on marketing strategies to meet business objectives * Japanese or Chinese Language skills are a plus. **Leadership Expectations:** As a leader at BASF, you will play a key role in creating value for the company through people.
