Summary
The Marketing Lead is accountable for assisting in the strategic development and implementation of marketing strategies and messaging, development of promotional plans, and participation in research projects with focus on customer needs and values for the HVAC Business and Mechanical. This position is responsible to help drive demand and communicate a consistent message within the market for Owens Corning. They will partner within the business (commercial, business development, product development) and will coordinate marketing initiatives with both internal and external constituents to meet the needs of the HVAC Duct Market for both residential and commercial construction.
Responsibilities
**Develops and Understands Customer Data: (approximate time 20%)** * Works with Insights, sales, customer service, industry tools, etc. on key areas of need to help to make sure we understand tactics and tools to be able to communicate to the market * Develops key plans that are insights based – giving key areas of growth for marketing tools for this market * Owns the “Voice of the Customer” for their market place – be the advocate for this market to make sure decisions are based on their needs and we develop plans based on Outside In approach. **Executes Marketing Strategies (approximate time 75%)** * Understands business strategies to assist in the development and execution of marketing plans with cross-functional teams including presenting to product teams, sales and key leadership both plan and metrics to show success and opportunities for growth. * Manages content and calendar for HVAC Duct Solutions Line including decision making on best tools/approaches to deliver content * Responsible overall marketing message for HVAC Duct Solutions line-input into Value Proposition Tool, develop strong message to target audiences, * Manages digital tools for product including SEM, web metrics, lead generation tools, etc. * Manages relationships with key industry associations to see how we can leverage the science based messaging to help market * Manages day-to-day operations which will include marketing communications approvals, budget/Pos/Orders/Invoice Approvals * Lead business events such as tradeshows and customer events to make sure they align with our strategy * Responsible to manage key product launches/work from start to finish including working with cross-functional teams on timing, elements needed, pushing these elements, approvals, meeting set budgets, etc. * Engage sales team and train on tools to help them achieve message in the market * Responsible for both setting and consistency with all messaging across different elements like literature, web, samples, packaging, technical pieces, social, etc. **Leads and Manages Vendor Relationships and Business Partnerships: (approximate time 5%)** * Manage media and advertising spend in conjunction with external agencies * Provides project leadership to the external agencies and media/partners while managing marketing programs to achieve business outcomes. **Metrics:** * Embedment of insights data into business segment and marketing strategies and tactics * Improvements in differential value (DVP) * Revenue growth, market share gain, specification rate gain * Marketing investment ROI for the business segment * Feedback from Marketing leaders and internal business clients * Meeting key deadlines * Impressions, Click Thru Rates (CTR), Search position, etc.
Ideal Candidate
* Bachelor’s Degree required in Marketing/Product Management or related field; MBA preferred * Minimum 5-7 years previous experience in marketing communications, sales, or marketing * Ability to travel up to 20% **Experience:** * Working in matrix organizations with multiple distribution channels and influencers, and having held operational accountability across geographic boundaries * Strong understanding and experience with online marketing, branding and project planning and management * Executing business and marketing strategy for a sizeable business segment * Field selling experience is helpful * Digital marketing experience helpful, including new technologies and capability to review different reports and react * Experience in HVAC or Building Materials industry preferred but not required * P&L or ROI business experience preferred but not required **Knowledge, Skills & Abilities:** * Ability to manage budgets, have the ability to accurately forecast and understand financial drivers to achieve business outcomes. * Ability to work with cross-functional teams without direct reporting to achieve key deadlines and goals * Ability to take calculated risks and learn from experience to show how we would do things ‘better’ * Creative, highly motivated and results-oriented with a high energy level and passion for marketing * Shows good, independent judgment, makes decisions, and commits to a course of action with appropriate fact-based analytics * Willingness and ability to operate "hands on" to get results * Effectively brings thought leadership and diverse points of view together to formulate solutions that meet both business segment and group objectives * Conducts business with the highest ethical and moral standards * Articulate, approachable, and candid; shows appreciation for and understanding of the feelings of others; aware of personal impact on others; expresses opinions without offending * High business acumen **Leadership Capabilities:** * Think Strategically * Acts on Analysis * Generate Ideas * Competitively Drive Results * Collaborate and Foster Teamwork * Follow Through on Commitments and Promises * Inspire and Energize Others * Engage Self and Others in Learning * Leadership Presence
