Summary

The Talent Management organization within TD Ameritrade exists to select the right candidates, provide tools and training for our Associates, help our leaders develop themselves and their teams, and support an engaged company culture. The Manager of Bench Development will serve as an internal program manager implementing and supporting our talent pipeline programs and initiatives. Candidates for this role will have to possess strong program design and management capabilities and be able to influence, partner, advise, and engage with leaders of all levels.
Responsibilities
* Program Management for Emerging Talent Program * The Emerging Talent Program (ETP) engages high potential college graduates in a rotational program with exposure to multiple business units and customized development curriculum. * Manage all aspects of the Emerging Talent Program from soliciting business unit participation to final placement of program participants * Design, coordinate, and implement emerging talent program curriculum focused on building a well-rounded business associate with TD Ameritrade business acumen, skills and technical knowledge * Coordinate and lead networking activities that provide development and leadership exposure for emerging talent program participants * Point of contact for managers and program participants on HR-related matters (including mentoring/advising, tracking progress, performance management, etc.) * Facilitate the final placement process of program participants with HR, managers and the participants * Maintain mentoring and support of program participants after final placements * Partner with Talent Acquisition to support recruiting, interviewing and selection of program participants * Support for Leadership Rotational Programs * Coordinate and support existing leadership rotational programs in business units like Institutional * Support design and implementation of new leadership rotational programs within and / or across business units (future state) and coordinate ongoing program after launch * Manage and Coordinate all External Leadership Development Programs for Key Leaders * Manage and coordinate leaders attending Wharton’s Securities Industry Institute * Research and coordinate requests for external leadership development programs as needed * Support Key Pipeline Programs for Our High Potential Leaders * Coordinate and support nomination-only programs for high potential leaders * Assist in creating learning community of graduates for bench development program graduates * Coordinate and track progress of our “Leaders as Teachers” professional development strategy * Support Core Management and Leadership Development Curriculum * Assist in delivery and facilitation of core management and leadership development programs and courses * Consult business and HR partners on targeted development solutions for individuals and teams * Update and maintain our enterprise mentoring toolkit resources and provide consultation to business partners as needed * Evaluate the Trends and Impact of Bench Development Initiatives * Tell the story of our learning program outcomes through analysis of data and reports * Tell the story of what happens to our program graduates after the program (i.e. graduate movement over time) * Collaborate with HR Shared Services to compile and organize succession planning data
Ideal Candidate
* 4 to 6 years of experience managing, developing and executing enterprise-wide or business-unit initiatives that require cross business involvement and collaboration * Bachelor’s degree or similar military experience is required; Degree in business, HR management or human capital related discipline is preferred * Strong program management experience with demonstrated ability to plan, flawlessly execute, and monitor the delivery and results of programs and learning curriculum * Must execute with a sense of urgency and be able to manage multiple priorities and ensure a high quality of professional work * Strong influencing and partnering skills * Strong presentation skills and facilitation skills * Strong in business and financial acumen * Experience and proficiency using online learning tools such as WebEx * Understanding of Adult Learning Theory and how to practically apply management and leadership concepts in the workplace is a plus * Masters’ degree in adult learning theory or business is a plus * Military education or experience may be considered in lieu of civilian requirements listed
