Summary
Coordinate and expedite the flow of materials (from suppliers and also within departments) according to production schedules. Plan and schedule material/production needs. Requires mastery of a body of theoretical knowledge. Requires developed and strong foundation of function skills and knowledge of relevant technologies. This is a new role to support our New Engine Production organization at Strother Field.
Responsibilities
* Manage master planning, material processes and systems, prepare and update production schedules and purchasing needs. * Ensure operational alignment with production plan and KPIs. * Optimize inventory and process improvements. * Develop new solutions under guidance and/or in a team setting or based upon precedents in the organizations. * Work together with business leadership at SPB and EB level. * Specify needs, communicates about project approach and presents outcomes of research done. * Deliver products as part of a team. * Work on cross functional teams. Alternatively: Leads analytical and design activities using proven technologies and vested approaches and methods. * Full ownership of the material procurement and fulfillment of hardware to support on-time engine builds * Flawless communication with all levels of the organization to escalate critical material * Full ownership of site 2-bin replenishment strategy * Full ownership of site kitting strategy and hourly resources * Collaborate with New Make Business Leader and Coach to determine manpower and build schedule based on material availability * Collaboration with Logistics to ensure scheduling and on-time engine shipments to the customer
Ideal Candidate
* Bachelor's degree from an accredited university or college (or a high school diploma / GED with at least 4 years of experience in Manufacturing). * Minimum of 3 additional years of experience in Materials Planning and Execution. * GE will only employ those who are legally authorized to work in the United States for this opening. Any offer of employment is conditioned upon the successful completion of a background investigation and drug screen. * Strong operational, manufacturing, planning, and materials experience * Strong influencing skills * Ability to manage multiple, competing priorities and make decisions on the fly * Always looking for a better way, strong change agent
