Summary
Ryan Specialty Group is looking for candidates with strong payroll knowledge and an accounting background to join our Chicago Corporate center. We are rapidly growing and offer a great opportunity for someone interested in further developing their career. This position will primarily be responsible for the accurate bi-monthly processing of Ryan Specialty Group payroll data utilizing ADP’s Work Force Now system. This role may also support the Accounts Payable and T&E process areas and support the shared services accounting team to ensure all transactional activity is properly recorded. This individual must be able to quickly learn new processes and work under pressure while providing a high level of customer service to both internal and external customers. This role offers the opportunity to gain exposure to multiple process areas within RSG’s shared services organization.
Responsibilities
* Accurately process Ryan Specialty Group Payroll data, ensuring compliance with corporate Payroll policy and applicable local, state and federal regulations. * Support reconciliation of payroll data to the general ledger, ensuring all compensation related journal entries are accurately recorded. * Complete cash reconciliation by properly researching and explaining all employee payroll and benefit related variances. * Ensure all payroll and vendor related transactions are processed in accordance with internal controls framework. * Assist with ad-hoc analysis, reporting and special projects (e.g. resolving payroll issues such as 401k, HSA, FSA deductions / variances). * Process vendor payables in line with corporate AP policy and applicable vendor terms. * Ensure all expenses are classified correctly and in line with chart of accounts. * Implement process improvements within shared services organization and support on going transformational initiatives.
Ideal Candidate
* Undergraduate degree preferred, but not required. * 3-5 years of payroll experience with advanced knowledge of ADP systems and multi-state payroll processing. * Experience with ADP Work Force Now version9 software or equivalent system required. * General ledger systems knowledge including account reconciliation and analysis preferred. * Advanced Microsoft Excel skills. * Excellent communication skills. * Customer service focused. * Professional maturity and ability to maintain confidential information. * Ability to prioritize and multi-task. * Thrive in a fast paced environment working under pressure while maintaining an emphasis on attention to detail and quality.
