Summary
Principal Financial Group is currently seeking a Retirement Planner / Financial Counselor to cover a national territory working with our retirement plan participants. Responsibilities
* Develop and implement customized educational plans that maximize participation in the retirement plan and Worksite Solutions program. * Develop appropriate assessment needs and conduct group presentations as well as one on one meetings that provide customized solutions for retirement plan clients. * Present and facilitate group enrollment and educational meetings for participants at customer work sites. * Maximize participation in the retirement plan as well help identify other financial needs the participant has. * Collaborate with internal team to design the appropriate needs assessment.
Ideal Candidate
**Required Qualifications** * Bachelor's degree or equivalent required * 2 - 5 years of experience in the financial services industry with experience in personal markets or direct financial advising. * Active FINRA Series 7, Series 63 and 65 or Series 66, and Life/Health. If you do not have active licensing, Series 7, Series 63 and Life/Health, all must be obtained within 4 months from date of employment and Series 65 or 66 must be obtained within 6 months from date of employment. * Excellent verbal and written communication and presentation skills required. * Ability to understand and explain technical information to a variety of audiences. * Excellent interpersonal, negotiation, decision-making and multitasking skills are necessary. * Must be self-motivated, flexible and be able to use independent judgment. * Must be able to work well independently and in a team environment. * Basic computer skills (Microsoft Office programs) * Previous experience meeting and or exceeding established goals * Willing to travel 80% of the time nationwide and regional. **Preferred Qualifications** * 1 on 1 financial advising experience * Financial services sales experience * Working knowledge/exposure to insurance (ex: life and disability insurance) a plus
