Responsibilities
* Maintain and/or update all employee payroll records to include terminations, earnings and deduction-related items for 12,000 + employees in 60 + locations, all across the United States * Process Leaves of Absence, Vacation, bonus, salary changes, severance, prorate new hire pay/retroactive pay increases, and off-cycle paychecks * Identify and resolve benefit deduction variances * Manage workflow to ensure all payroll transactions are processed accurately and timely, * Reconcile and import time files * Prepare preliminary payroll reporting and audit, research and resolve discrepancies. * Run final payroll reports and submit for processing * Process stop payments, voids and replacement checks * Develop, document and maintain procedures; identify and recommend process improvements * Identify and solve payroll issues, working with HR Managers, employees and vendors to bring to satisfactory resolution * Develop and provide ad hoc reporting * Process accurate and timely year end reporting * Subject matter expert on payroll best practices to support field HR * Partner with Payroll Manager to implement system enhancements and organizational structure changes to meet changing business needs
Ideal Candidate
* 5+ years’ experience in multi-state payroll processing, including strong knowledge of federal and state regulations, wage assignments. * Associate’s degree preferred * Payroll system experience required; ADP Vantage preferred * Thorough understanding of payroll best practices, record retention requirements. * Intermediate skills in Microsoft Office (Excel, Word, Outlook) * Effective organizational skills * Skilled in communicating payroll information to employees at all levels of the organization; adept dealing with confidential information * Detail oriented, strong problem solving and analytical skills * Ability to work with little supervision; confidently make decisions based on knowledge and experience * Professional team player with strong work ethic and skill to manage multiple priorities * Strong, effective, interpersonal communications skills; both verbal and written
