Summary
Supports the division and departmental cost savings and revenue enhancement goals by managing the full life cycle of contract negotiations with One Call’s EDM, Home Health, Complex Care, and Hearing Aid in-network providers. Analyzes and leads in the negotiation of provider contracts. Disseminates healthcare contract information throughout the organization and updates applicable systems as contracts are updated or changed. Incumbent must be able to familiarize oneself with a variety of healthcare concepts, practices and procedures. Relies on experience and judgment to plan and accomplish goals while performing a variety of tasks. A wide degree of decision making, creativity and latitude is expected.
Responsibilities
**Essential Function:** * Influences stake holders (Operations, Sales, and Finance team) on the strategy and executes the strategy with speed * Understands cost drivers, performs competitive benchmarking and constantly works to improve value delivery to the organization * Develops and executes upon negotiation plans and strategies for provider contract negotiations that support the improvement of One Call’s provider network * Works independently and as part of a team on contract negotiations, renegotiations, contract preparation, and provider relations * Assesses and makes informed decisions regarding strategies, approach and concessions with respect to financial and risk elements of a deal * Reduces cost of goods sold through contract renegotiations of existing provider contracts * Negotiates amendments and modifications to existing contracts * Manages contract process from initial needs assessment through conclusion, including distributing pricing and data throughout organization and ensuring compliance * Obtains required credentials on each provider and ensures Credentialing process is adhered to with respect to Provider Relations role in the process * Assures appropriate network coverage * Requests withdrawal or retention of providers in any given service * Monitors state fee schedules by working closely with One Call’s Government Affairs Department to ensure provider compliance. * Leads/Coordinates/ attends meetings with providers **Non-essential:** * Maintains status and associated documentation in appropriate electronic location on a timely basis to support departmental reporting requirements and timeframes * Completion of any projects requested by the division Executive Direction * General duties as needed
Ideal Candidate
**Work Experience** * At least 5-6 years of experience in a traditional procurement organization/sourcing in a regional/global environment, strong negotiation, relationship building and project management skills * Dedicated focus on contract negotiations and cost reductions required * Prior experience working in a fast-paced environment while prioritizing multiple tasks helpful **Education:** * BA/BS required and at least two to four years of prior provider network development or contracting experience. * 8+ years of experience will be considered as a substitute for required education element **Knowledge, Skill, Abilities and other Characteristics:** * Data entry skills/above average speed with minimal errors * Advanced Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Access) * Exceptional organization skills * Must be extremely detailed oriented and able to work independently as well as in a team environment * The ability to follow precise instructions and meet strict deadlines * Strong analytical skills * Ability to communicate effectively, both verbally and in writing, with individuals inside and outside the Company * To work effectively and relates well with others * Exhibits a professional manner in dealing with others and works to maintain constructive working relationships * Exhibit good problem solving abilities and demonstrate the ability to work well under deadline driven environments * Should be self-motivated **Physical/Emotional Demands and work Environment:** * For roles located in office or home settings; this job is primarily sedentary and may involve repetitive motions; the employee is regularly required to sit, use hands and fingers, speak, and hear * For roles located in the field; this job is primarily active; the employee is regularly mobile and must be able to utilize transportation (such as driving), sit, use hands and fingers, speak, and hear * The employee is occasionally required to stand, walk, and lift objects (up to 10lbs weight; up to 4 ft. height). * Specific vision abilities required by this job include ability to see things from a close distance and ability to adjust focus * The work environment utilizes florescent lighting; noise level is moderate * The emotional demand of the job may cause undue stress from, but not limited to, moderate/heavy workload * Reasonable accommodations will be individually assessed and possibly made to enable individuals with disabilities to perform the essential functions of the position. * Please be advised the job description is subject to change at any time
