Summary
This position reports to the VP, Human Resources and is responsible for providing HR leadership to the PMR Sales and Marketing team with a revenue of $2.7 billon within the MITG Americas Group at Medtronic. This position will work in a matrixed environment with business operations within the Americas region- United States, Canada and Latin America and beyond. Key responsibilities include development and implementation of people strategies and processes that drive enhanced business results and improve the capabilities of these organizations globally. As a member of HR team, the incumbent is required to have a thorough understanding of the business strategy, diagnose the organizations’ needs and provide specific consultation to the business leaders relative to the strategic and people-related issues impacting their organization.
Responsibilities
**Essential Functions:** * Contribute to the strategic business plan; drive key HR strategic initiatives as required, including M&A and restructuring plans. 2. Develop and implement appropriate organizational and people strategies and solutions that align with the business objectives and deliver results. 3. Collaborate with Commercial Leaders to drive commercial excellence objectives targeted at ensuring we have world-class sales and marketing professionals around the world (sales compensation, staffing and development). 4. Increase the capabilities of the organization through identification, development, movement and retention of talent 5. Working with the business VP/GMs and VP of HR, provide leadership in the development of change strategies, which align resources and drive a collaborative and supportive high performing work environment. Provide leadership and focus on people implications of organizational change. 6. Define, plan and fulfill the workforce planning/staffing needs of the businesses – ensure the maintenance of workforce plans and share regularly with HR VP; proactively work with talent acquisition to prepare for future vacancies; assist in recruiting and selection processes for all positions 7. Drive GBU Americas strategies and leverage COE and solution delivery to implement solutions across employee development, total rewards, employee relations and organizational effectiveness disicplines. 8. Lead the assessment/performance management process (e.g., capability gaps, individual development plans, leadership development opportunities).Manage and support the annual objectives and rewards planning processes, ensuring processes and tools are understood by providing education (e.g. workshops) and supporting the cascading of objectives through the organization. Responsible for ensuring that performance management and rewards planning is completed within assigned customer group. 9. Assist business heads in the development and implementation of the Organization and Talent Planning (OTP). Accountable for ensuring that formal, robust individual development plans are established and implemented. 10. Work with Communications to develop and implement Americas employee communications programs to gain alignment and generate engagement around business objectives and a career at Medtronic. 11. Manage and support the implementation of global programs that create a work environment that benefits from a diverse group of employees, by recognizing, appreciating, valuing and utilizing the unique talents and contributions of all individuals 12. As required, support and participate in HR projects and initiatives (Medtronic HR Transformation projects). 13. Ensure fair and consistent interpretation and application of Medtronic policies, practices and procedures that create and maintain a positive employee relations environment and help create the desired functional and Medtronic culture. 14. Identify and share best practice that positively affect turnover/retention, customer satisfaction, workplace safety, productivity and profitability **Department Specific/Non-Essential Functions:** * Other duties as assigned with or without accommodation.
Ideal Candidate
**Education:** * Bachelor’s degree or the equivalent in Human Resources or a related field required. Advanced degree highly desirable **Experience:** * 10 – 12 years professional HR experience in progressively more responsible HR positions. * Experience in global environment required. * Experience with Sales and Marketing organizations highly desirable. * Demonstrated experience in independently managing projects, playing a leadership role in a matrix environment, coaching and counseling employees and managers regarding work related challenges such as motivation, performance improvement and development * Demonstrated experience in successfully translating business priorities and developing and implementing people strategies to achieve business objectives. **Preferred Skills/Qualifications:** * Strategic Leadership/Decision-Making/Analytical Skills; this role requires the incumbent have the demonstrated ability to be a strategic business leader, facilitating clients and the business overall to achieve objectives and improve effectiveness. **Skills/Competencies:** * Drive for Results – Exceptional project management/organizational skills; ability to manage multiple priorities; can translate business strategies into actionable people strategies. **Other Skills:** * Building Successful Working Relationships – Strong consultative skills; ability to partner with senior managers and professionals in multiple functions and organizations.
