Summary
The HR Manager is responsible for providing HR leadership to all US & Canada Regional functions, with the exception of Sales. Client functions to include: Finance & Accounting, Logistics & Distribution, Corporate Planning, Purchasing, Marketing, Customer Service and Pricing.
Responsibilities
**Talent Acquisition** * Partner with Corporate HR and business partners to identify talent needs and develop recruiting and staffing plans to support defined client functions * Provide active, direct involvement in recruiting and selection for all positions * Oversee new hire/recruiting & selection processes * Lead and coordinate new employee orientation (on-boarding) processes * Manage affirmative action compliance and reporting **Talent and Organization Capability Development** * Manage the annual talent review and succession planning processes * Lead and champion the individual development process * Ensure that all Associates have defined goals and metrics in Libbey’s talent management system, and champion the performance management process * Assess training & development needs, and identify comprehensive and low cost development solutions * Develop and deliver training programs; source and partner with external training providers to deliver optimal results * Create/maintain current job descriptions for all roles * Ensure organizational charts are accurately maintained * Active involvement in managing the annual merit and incentive processes * Recommend, develop and implement new policies to support continual improvement * Conduct Associate exit interviews and communicate/apply learnings **Culture Transformation** * Coach Associates in, and drive, the behaviors expected to support our strategy * Lead the annual engagement survey process and related action plan development/tracking * Create and manage HR communications * Partner with management to proactively prevent and actively manage Associate relations issues, including fair and consistent application of policies and disciplinary action * Provide consultation and guidance for managers and Associates on company policies and processes * Ensure proper management and communication of safety and Workers Compensation related matters **HR Cost Management, Processes and Metrics** * Provide leadership, coaching and development to HR Coordinator to ensure high level of performance and growth * Manage/maintain Associate records for all US & Canada Headquarter Associates * Provide routine reporting on key HR metrics * Ensure ongoing compliance with all legal and procedural requirements; conduct routine compliance audits and implement corrective actions * Actively look for and implement actions to reduce HR costs and improve efficiency * Respond to requests for information by various entities (e.g., EEOC, OCR) * Support HR Department effectiveness by establishing standardized, documented, sustainable processes for routine transactions and leveraging manager/Associate self-service opportunities * Work collaboratively across the region with HR colleagues to establish and maintain standardized HR processes to optimize HR effectiveness * Ensure seamless collaboration with shared services in areas such as payroll and benefits
Ideal Candidate
* Minimum 5-7 years of HR experience * Bachelor's degree (Business Administration / Human Resources / Labor Relations preferred) * Solid understanding and knowledge of Human Resource practices in recruitment, organization development, policy administration, benefits, training and Associate relations * Proven organizational leadership capabilities, expertise in implementing and managing change * Exceptional written, verbal and presentation skills * Strong project management skills * Ability to work collaboratively and effectively with others * Knowledge of state and federal employment regulations, and record keeping requirements * Must possess ability to effectively interpret and advise on EEO/AA regulations, including the development of adverse impact analysis * High level of proficiency in Microsoft Office (Outlook, Word, Excel, PowerPoint); familiarity with other HR software strongly desired * PHR or SPHR certification preferred * A bias for customer service and action * Creative, analytic and resourceful * Strong attention to detail and follow-through * Ability to make decisions based on sound judgment and rationale * Professional integrity and the ability to maintain confidential information * Ability to multi-task, remain highly organized, and thrive in a deadline-driven environment * Confidence in communication – verbally, written, large groups, one on one
