Summary
The Manager, Contract & Pricing Analytics is a key member of Trade, Pricing, and Contract Management (TPCM). TPCM is a part Amgen’s US Value & Access organization and is responsible for the commercial and government pricing and contracting activities for a book of business in excess of $20 Billion annually. As a member of the team, the Manager, Contract & Pricing Analytics is central to ensuring Amgen’s success in the Government and Commercial Healthcare Markets including Medicaid and Medicare.
Responsibilities
* This position will be responsible for developing and executing critical analyses to support strategy, analytics, and insights functions within Government Programs and Commercial Contracting. This role interacts cross functionally with Provider Contracting, Payer Contracting, Brand Marketing, Government Affairs, Trade & Distribution, Business Unit Leadership, Finance, Accounting, and Legal. * Forecasts the implications of commercial contracting activities on government program prices to quantify gross to net (GTN) liability. * Educates business partners on the pricing implications and downstream impact of commercial pricing strategies on the government pricing calculations. * Works cross functionally with commercial contracting, brand marketing, and business unit teams to optimize the gross to net impact of strategies on the government pricing calculations. * Builds and executes models to quantify the impact of current US federal policy scenarios identified by US Government Affairs on Amgen strategies and financial forecasts * Builds and executes reports and analytical tools to measure performance of both commercial and government contracts * Executes analytical models for the portfolio of products to forecast the discount rates in support of Amgen’s quarterly financial statements * Routinely interacts with cross functional peers, committees, and teams. * Develop reports and analytical tools to measure performance of both commercial and government contracts * Document policies, procedures, risks-controls, and findings. * Champions and influences organizational change and education through daily behavior.
Ideal Candidate
* Experience solving complex business problems and managing analytics projects. * Experience in pharmaceutical/biotech environment. * Demonstrated track record of increasing responsibility. * Exceptional analytical capabilities. * Excellent conceptual problem solving skills with demonstrated ability to bring structure to vaguely defined problems, pragmatically scope problem solving approach, and manage execution. * Authoritative command of complexity and ambiguity; ability to see the big picture; ability to collect, digest and assemble information to enable relevant business analyses. * Proven ability to execute effectively in a highly fluid, interactive, matrixed environment; demonstrated ability to successfully execute against multiple simultaneous requirements and drive tasks to completion. * Experience modeling, analyzing, and validating large quantities of data transactions and drawing conclusions from that analysis. * Deep interest in navigating evolving and fluid marketplaces with specific interest on the interactions between Government and Healthcare. * Experience in Government Pricing with Medicare, Medicaid, and/or Federal Supply Schedule. * Excellent oral and written communication skills. * Extensive experience with Excel and other analytical toolsets (e.g., Tableau, Alteryx) **Basic qualifications:** * Doctorate degree * Master’s degree and 2 years of experience in either government pricing, commercial contracting and/or pricing, finance, FP&A, accounting, or sales operations * Bachelor’s degree and 4 years of experience in either government pricing, commercial contracting and/or pricing, analytics, forecasting, consulting, finance, FP&A, accounting, or sales operations * Associate’s degree and 7 years of experience in either government pricing, commercial contracting and/or pricing, analytics, forecasting, consulting, finance, FP&A, accounting, or sales operations * High school diploma / GED and 10 years of experience in either government pricing, commercial contracting and/or pricing, analytics, forecasting, consulting, finance, FP&A, accounting, or sales operations
