Summary
Responsible for the financial planning and analysis for assigned areas of the operation. This includes financial results analysis, budgets and forecast preparation, financial analysis of various potential and implemented initiatives, and month end close activities applying accounting principles and procedures to analyze financial information for preparation of financial reports.
Responsibilities
* Develop, review and upload all budgets and forecasts within assigned area. * Assist in monthly closing activities such as, the review, research and preparation of monthly variance explanations, accruals and analytical support to Management. * Research and report on financial actual result variances against budget and forecast. Investigate and resolve accounting discrepancies and irregularities. * Prepare financial analysis models for all potential initiatives and measure results while in test periods and also after a permanent fleet-wide implementation. Provide recommendations as a result of the analysis performed. * Assist Operations department with contract reviews and reconciliations of related incentives, marketing funds etc. * Develop reporting tools as needed by Operations to successfully run the business and make good decisions. * Recommend and implement process improvements and standardization, creating and maintaining documentation, to streamline and improve the overall process flow of various functions. * Mentor and develop assigned team members. * Perform other duties as assigned.
Ideal Candidate
The ideal candidate will be flexible to support a variety of tasks and eager to learn new skills and concepts. Must take ownership of areas of responsibility. The individual must be a team player who is able to work well with team members and outside contacts. Willing to go the extra mile to ensure projects are completed on time. **Education** Bachelor’s degree in Business, Economics, Management Science or in a similar quantitative area or any equivalent combination of relevant background, skills, and experience. MBA/MS preferred. **Experience** 5 to 7 years of experience involving accounting, financial planning, revenue management, or data analytics/reporting. Familiarity with travel/cruise industry and reservation/accounting systems preferred. **Knowlege and Skill** Excellent quantitative and analytical skills. Must be an organized, detail-oriented individual fluent in Microsoft Suite applications including Excel, Word, Outlook and PowerPoint. Excellent communication and interpersonal skills are mandatory to support working directly with upper management and operations team members.
