Summary
The HR Development Manager reports to the head of the Talent Management and Analytics team. This position supports the design, development and execution of global Talent Management processes and initiatives. The Manager works closely with functional and regional HR leadership to ensure future processes and programs are sustainable, globally scalable, and support the organization’s growth strategies. In addition, the position will be responsible for supporting global processes in the disciplines of competency management, career paths, 360-degree feedback, and assessments for development, mentoring, and metrics/analytics to support career development initiatives. The Manager will collaborate with HR leaders and Talent Management colleagues to enhance rigor and create globally scalable approaches for Talent Management processes and initiatives to promote career enrichment and development. This includes researching, creating, and implementing a practical strategy and leading efforts to create and embed deliverables across the organization. Also responsible to stay informed of best practices and essential benchmarks and provide innovative, impactful ideas to enhance tools and processes to support Amgen’s Best Place for Talent initiatives and drive career development across Amgen. Responsibilities
Support the preparation and facilitation of Talent Management processes with the business. Support design and development of new and innovative global Talent Management programs and processes to drive change and strengthen the depth and diversity of global leadership talent. Provide consultation on specific phases of Talent Management processes such as competency management, career paths, differentiated career development, assessments for development, mentoring, etc. Support communication and change management regarding Talent Management strategies and initiatives to drive impact and understanding. Support best practices in Talent Management with peers across the organization. Propose and garner support for globally scalable policies and programs to support career development across the Amgen enterprise. Develop project plans and/or other tactics to ensure projects are documented, executed and sustained, as needed. Support methods to report on analytics that measure the effectiveness of career development initiatives and programs. Keep current on trend in Talent Management with a focus on career development (e.g., professional association and educational groups, and professional development efforts). Outline a global approach for career paths / experience maps and, as appropriate, competency models to define leadership and technical capabilities and experiences required to meet business and individual objectives. Inform the research, design, development, communication and successful implementation of career paths / experience maps. Work with HR partners and business leaders to develop and embed competencies within HR processes and career development solutions and tools for Learning and Development, Talent Management, etc. Oversee the implementation and ongoing execution of a global 360-degree feedback process for all Amgen regular staff. Consult with HR colleagues and business leaders regarding the development and execution of assessments for the purpose of development (e.g., assessment centers, role play exercises, third-party assessments, etc.). Oversee the execution of the global Amgen Mentoring Program (AMP). Work with HR leaders and Talent Management colleagues to update and improve the program.
Ideal Candidate
**Basic Qualifications** * Doctorate degree or * Master’s degree & 2 years of Human Resources experience or * Bachelor’s degree & 4 years of Human Resources experience or * Associate’s degree & 10 years of Human Resources experience or * High school diploma / GED & 12 years of Human Resources experience **Preferred Qualifications** * 5+ years of experience in Human Resources to include experience working in a Center of Excellence (i.e., Talent Management, Learning and Development). * Background and training in Industrial/Organizational (I/O) Psychology, Organizational Development or Learning and Development. * Strong project management skills; ability to manage multiple projects. * Demonstrated ability to partner in creating big picture strategies and bring them to life in day-to-day activities. * Experience building career paths, experience maps, competency models and assessments for development in a global organization. * Strong analytical skills and understanding how to use data to inform program design. * Ability to balance a fast-paced environment with multiple priorities and competing demands. * Self-directed and willing to take informed risks. * Experience managing large projects on a global scale involving multiple functions and shared accountabilities. * Knowledge of integrated talent systems/platforms. * Strong knowledge of Excel, PowerPoint, and Microsoft Word.
