Summary
World Wildlife Fund (WWF), one of the world’s leading conservation organizations, seeks a Development Coordinator to be based in San Francisco. The Development Coordinator will play a key role in supporting WWF’s expanding fundraising program in the western region by supporting regional fundraising efforts, assisting in event planning, managing a regional office in the San Francisco Bay Area and acting as liaison to the development department at the Washington DC headquarters.
Responsibilities
* Communication: Serves as of the central point of contact for phone calls and requests from donors, Board and National Council members, staff and the general public. Investigates donor inquiries and donor relations’ issues. Attends donor-related meetings and drafts correspondence on behalf of the western regional team. * Fundraising support: Supports the work of the development team in the identification, cultivation and solicitation of donors capable of making significant gifts to WWF. Tracks progress using the CRM system, prepares regional communications and activity reports, prepares itineraries and makes appointments for visiting WWF staff, and serves as a liaison to headquarters. * Event Management: In close coordination with the events management and travel teams, prepares and implements special donor events in the western region. * Report Preparation: Coordinates with Prospect Development and Development Systems staff to prepare reports, calculate statistics and interpret data using the CRM system. Assists fundraisers in preparing proposals and presentations. Reviews, validates and inputs collected data. Reconciles data and coordinates with staff to resolve problems as needed. * Financial Accountability: Tracks budget items, reviews bills and invoices, and prepares check and/or wire requests. Compiles and reviews financial reports. Prepares expense reports, and handles travel arrangements for regional staff. * Office Management: Manages the day to day responsibilities for the office in San Francisco Bay Area. Responsible for tenant management, telecommunications, general maintenance/repairs, equipment, office supplies, purchasing requests, and general office duties. * Performs other duties as assigned.
Ideal Candidate
* Bachelor’s degree and 2 years of experience in a professional office environment required. Associate’s degree and 4 years of related experience can be substituted for a Bachelor's degree. Specific experience in donor relations preferred but not required. * Ability to organize time, manage diverse activities and meet deadlines, with minimal supervision is required. * Demonstrates flexibility to changing situations and priorities. * Excellent written and oral communication skills; ability to proof and edit documents. * Experience planning and coordinating projects and meetings, performing basic IT troubleshooting, and managing videoconferences or related activities. - Office management experience desired. * Event planning experience a plus. * Demonstrated ability to professionally represent WWF to donors, Board and National Council members and the public. * Ease in using a wide variety of office software. Ability to manipulate, analyze and interpret data. Experience using a CRM system a plus.
