Summary
The Data Systems Lead oversees the effective use and stewardship of our constituent relationship management (CRM) systems to strengthen relationships with donors, volunteers and friends of Portland Rescue Mission. The Data Systems Lead is responsible for overall administration of CRM systems, primarily a donor management system that was recently converted to CiviCRM. This person knows their way around relational databases with deep familiarity of database structures, queries and language. However, they thrive in helping donors and users interact and have positive experiences via this CRM system. This includes staff in finance, gifts processing, and engagement [which includes marketing and donor relations], as well as suppliers and donors. The ideal person thrives in trouble-shooting to optimize the functionality and application of CRM systems where the technology effortlessly facilitates daily workflow, while also championing CRM improvements that will help the organization become even more effective and efficient. The right candidate will have a true can-do attitude, a warm and hospitable demeanor, a passion for order and organization, and fearlessness in the face of technology. Responsibilities
- Responsible for CRM quality and practical use across the organization - Serves as the go-to person for all CRM users, especially the engagement and gifts processing teams - Takes data quality seriously and works to maintain a clean and unfettered database - Ensures that the data contained in CRM databases is correct - Works with the entire organization as a champion and trainer to ensure CRM systems are understood by new and existing users and help the system to grow and evolve - Provides support and training for staff in data entry and basic management - Assesses various options for optimizing and customizing the system to help the system grow and evolve - Produces timely reports such as campaign performance and monthly results - Advises the organization on database projects, use cases and expected ROI or impact - Attends regular meetings with support staff and various team members to review upcoming issues, items, projects and training
Ideal Candidate
- Has operational experience with relational databases; well versed in database structures and writing SQL queries - Proven customer service orientation combined with the ability to work well with others, in the office and out - Creativity, initiative, excitement about the possibilities of the CRM - Strong knowledge of CRMs; knowledge of CiviCRM especially helpful - Strong spreadsheet skills - Excellent business analysis and problem solving skills - Excellent interpersonal skills - Ability to work with people of varying technical skills - Previous experience in an end-user technical support role - Quick, analytical thinker - Ability to effectively communicate complex concepts - Drupal/WordPress CMS experience would be a plus - Background with CSS, HTML, or query writing in ACCESS would be helpful - Other Duties as Assigned **Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities** - College degree in related field or experience equivalent. - Multi-tasker, self-starter, deadline-driven.
