Summary
Valmont is currently seeking a highly motivated and talented individual for a Human Resources Generalist position in our Claremore, Oklahoma galvanizing facility. We are looking for a highly driven individual with manufacturing environment experience to handle all of the site day-to-day HR activities as well as function as the HR Business Partner to the General Manager.
Responsibilities
* Possess and maintain an in-depth knowledge of legal requirements and government reporting regulations affecting human resources functions with multiple state applications * Recruit, interview, test and select qualified candidates to fill vacant positions in accordance with the company AAP. Conduct background verifications of the selected candidates. Coordinate with an outside staffing agencies, as needed, to fill vacant positions. * Create and maintain job descriptions for use in job evaluations, employment placement, and performance evaluation process * Assist production management with the handling of employee relations issues. Investigate and document disciplinary action for misconduct, poor performance issues, safety violations issues, etc. Pro-actively assist management with the identification of priority training needs * Design, coordinate, and conduct skills training for managers, supervisors, and employees, as required. * Keep HR Director abreast of disciplinary action, claims or charges requiring management attention. Perform appropriate investigations and prepare reports regarding the results of the investigations * Assist in reporting and updating WC information including interactive process and ADAAA reasonable accommodation practices * Maintains personnel files and keeps records of personnel transactions such as hires, promotions, transfers, performance reviews, and terminations, training and employee statistics for government reporting * Support corporate and division initiatives * Coordinate and present on-boarding and new employee training
Ideal Candidate
**Required Qualifications** * Bachelor’s degree or equivalent combination of education and two to four years related experience. * 3-5 years HR Generalist experience including but not limited to recruiting, on-boarding, employee relations/counselling, complaint investigation, benefits, employment regulation, Americans with Disabilities (ADA) compliance including reasonable accommodation interactive process, FMLA administration, safety, workers comp reporting and follow up. * Strong working knowledge of state & federal employment regulations as well as compliance in government reporting for those things affecting human resources * A strong working knowledge of Microsoft Excel, Microsoft Word, Microsoft PowerPoint, Microsoft Outlook and HRIS system * The ability to read, understand, analyze, and interpret business periodicals, journals, technical procedures, and governmental regulations and consolidate into updates for employees and the management team * Demonstrate strong communication, organizational, analytical, and interpersonal skills * Strong leadership skills * Timekeeping/Payroll upload experience * Must be a person of passion and integrity who has the drive to excel and deliver exceptional results **Highly qualified candidates will also possess:** * Three years of previous experience working in a manufacturing, warehouse, distribution or fabrication environment * Affirmative Action Planning * Working knowledge of Lean Manufacturing principles * Professional in Human Resources (PHR) Certification * Bilingual English/Spanish * Graduate level classes or Masters degree in management, organizational design, human resources management or business
