Summary
The HR Generalist role is an integral part of the location HR team. This position is responsible for assisting the HR Manager with providing leadership around employee engagement, coaching managers on people related issues, aligning HR processes and systems with business unit and location strategies, and providing HR solutions for all people related processes including but not limited to: recruiting, staffing, employee relations, onboarding, engagement, and compliance. The successful candidate will have demonstrated high level of organization, strong follow through, initiative,and effective communication skills.
Responsibilities
* 40% Recruitment – ensure adequate applicant flow, interview applicants, extend offers, process new hire paperwork, manage internal job bidding, assist in facilitating New Hire Orientation * 25% Employee Relations – Address employee/union concerns and violations of policy. Provide coaching to front line management to ensure issues are addressed timely and reduce reoccurrence. Answer questions on policies,procedures and programs. Conduct investigations. * 10% Business Partner– Build strong relationships with all levels of the organization to ensure HR Services, decisions,recommendations are in the best interest of our employees and the business. * 10% Engagement – Coordinate initiatives including employee round table program, engagement survey, communication tools, valuing differences, and other initiatives driving engagement and retention. * 10% Policy Compliance – Assist in ensuring corporate and governmental compliance initiatives are understood and followed. Maintain accurate risk-management records. * 5% HR Reporting - Produce, maintain and distribute HR information and statistics including turnover data, staffing, etc
Ideal Candidate
**RequiredQualifications** * Bachelors degree in Human Resources or related field * At least 1 year of professional Human Resources work experience * General knowledge of HR core competencies: employment labor laws, employee relations * Demonstrated leadership skills - Ability to inspire, motivate, educate and empower others in a positive and productive team environment. * Strong communication and people skills with the ability to interact effectively with employees at all levels. * Ability to manage multiple tasks and prioritize to meet deadlines in a fast-paced environment. * Positive attitude and willingness to do what it takes to deliver exceptional results. * Demonstrated ability to exercise discretion and diplomacy when dealing with confidential and sensitive matters. * Demonstrated track record in promoting an inclusive environment and seeking ways to integrate differences. * Ability to work as a member of a team and independently as needed. * Must have computer skills with proficiency in Microsoft Office (Word,Excel, and PowerPoint). * Ability to work a variety of hours (occasional evenings and weekends) to meet the needs of the client base **Preferred Qualifications** * Bilingual (Spanish/English) * HR experience in a manufacturing environment
