Summary
The Benefits Specialist position is responsible for administrating the day-to-day operations of the assigned client benefit programs (group health, dental, vision, short-term and long-term disability, life insurance, travel and accident plan, flexible spending plan, and 401(k) plan).
Responsibilities
* Assist with administration of assigned client company benefits including but not limited to medical, dental, and life insurance; disability and workers’ compensation; 401(k) and other pension plans * Reconcile monthly group insurance invoices for assigned clients * Submit data feed of newly eligible client employees, additions, deletions and other changes to carriers on a weekly basis * Perform benefit file imports into payroll system from various sources and reviews and verifies data for accuracy * Enter newly eligible client employees, additions, deletions and other changes on carrier web portals as necessary on a weekly basis * Establish and maintains effective relationships with benefits vendors and consultants; ensures that the administration of the plans is working effectively * Correspond with benefit carriers to correct discrepancies * Assist with coordination of COBRA enrollments with carriers * Create, send and track FMLA documentation to include monthly benefit amounts due each month * Provide telephonic and electronic email support to employees regarding benefit-related questions * Escalate non-routine inquiries and issues to Benefits Manager * Assist with client open enrollment meetings as requested * Provide benefit confirmation statements to newly enrolled employees, employees who make changes throughout the year or during the open enrollment period * Assist with new client implementations as requested * Assist with related special projects as needed

**Requirements:** * Working knowledge of HR laws and regulations * Commitment to excellence and high standards * Excellent written and oral communication skills * Strong organizational, problem-solving, and analytical skills * Ability to manage priorities and workflow * Versatility, flexibility, and a willingness to work within constantly changing priorities with enthusiasm * Acute attention to detail * Proficient using the Microsoft Office Suite of software to include Outlook, Word and Excel * Excellent customer service skills * Experience with Ultimate Software preferred * Ability to deal effectively with a diversity of individuals at all organizational levels * Ability to understand and follow written and verbal instructions * Ability to work on complex projects with general direction and minimal guidance * Ability to effectively present information and respond to questions * Experience with Ultipro preferred * CEBS or PHR certification preferred * Commitment to excellence and high standards * Excellent written and communication skills * Ability to understand and follow written and verbal instructions **Education/Certification/License:** Associate’s degree (A.A.) or equivalent, three to five years related experience, or equivalent combination of education and experience
