Summary
The HR Department at T2 is looking for a dynamic, team player with management experience to serve as a senior leader within the Payroll team, supervising North American payrolls for 2000+ employees at multiple locations in the U.S. and Canada, as well as day-to-day payroll-related operations.
Responsibilities
* Supervise payroll administration, ensuring all activities are completed within required timeline for bi-weekly payroll processing for US and Canadian employees. * Managerial responsibility for payroll audit and review to ensure accurate results and compliance. * Assess existing processes for areas for improvement and better efficiency. * Review all manual checks for accuracy and compliance. * Prepare and report all local, state and federal payroll taxes. * Prepare tax registrations and power of attorney for any new states. * Review monthly remote employees for tax compliance. * Reconcile 401K/RRSP funding files after each payroll. * Monitor and maintain payroll balancing controls. * Create monthly payroll general ledger files and partner with Finance on any discrepancies. * Collaborate with Finance on the monthly bank reconciliation. * Maintain project plans and testing scenarios for upgrades and new initiatives. * Oversee the W-2 and T-4 processing and all year end functions. * Complete all quarterly payroll tax reconciliations. * Review all quarterly tax returns prepared by vendor for accuracy and compliance. * Responsible for Ex-Pat and international assignee payments. * Support HRIS and time and absence systems as needed. * Partner with Sr. Director, Payroll, on training, developing and mentoring the Payroll team. * Prepare summary of required company-wide payroll liability. * Assist Payroll team with resolving payroll discrepancies. * Prepare monthly and/or quarterly reports. * Work with external and internal auditors on SOX compliance. * Assist in special projects. * Serve as back-up for Sr. Director, Payroll and HRIS.
Ideal Candidate
* Bachelor’s Degree in HR or related area preferred and 7+ years of progressively responsible work experience within a dynamic payroll team, with at least 2 years in a supervisory capacity * CPP designation preferred * 5+ years of experience with a major payroll solution, i.e., Workday, PeopleSoft, ADP or an enterprise-scale payroll system * 5+ years experience overseeing a complex, large-volume multi-state payroll function. * Experience with payroll tax reporting/filing, including taxation of foreign nationals, non-resident aliens and expatriates. * Strong expertise in HR/Payroll databases and processes, data interfaces, and query/data source tools; * Must possess a high standard for customer service with excellent consulting, interpersonal, follow-up; communication and time management skills * Must be ready and willing to take initiative and follow through on assignments in a fast-paced and demanding environment * Deadline and results driven * Ability to successfully manage multiple projects and tasks at the same time * Ability to work collaboratively as a team member * Advanced knowledge of Excel * Understanding of administration of payroll taxes and garnishments * Must be detail-oriented, self-disciplined and highly motivated * Project a professional image, a discreet work manner and possess a high level of confidentiality
