Summary
In this role, you will partner closely with the local HR Manager and the Portland leadership team to scale its talent strategy and operations as we continue to build a world-class customer support team on the west coast. On a day-to-day basis, you will manage employee relations, coach our team leaders, and make a meaningful impact in the areas of employee relations, performance management, culture setting, and more. You will be empowered to “zoom out” and keep considerable, strategic focus on optimizing for engagement and retention.
Responsibilities
* Act as a partner to the Customer Operations organization and lend support to local team initiatives * Own the HR-related touch points covering the entire employee lifecycle: from leading the HR operations section of new hire orientation, to processing promotions and transfers, to seeing through the offboarding process for exiting employees * Be a trusted advisor to employees in all sensitive HR areas such as employee relations, investigations, and leaves of absences * Coach managers on performance management, feedback, employee development, and career pathing * Lead compensation reviews in Portland and lend your expertise as it relates to our compensation philosophy and practices * Develop and lead People Team initiatives focusing on retention, engagement, recognition, and talent management * Manage HR administrative tasks, including maintenance of electronic employee files, provision of employment verifications, and responses to unemployment claims * Act as the main point-of-contact for all payroll and benefit related day-to-day queries, and work with our Global Payroll & Benefits Team to plan wellness events in Portland * Partner with the Recruiting Team on strategic headcount planning, identifying critical roles and succession planning * Collaborate with the Training & Development Team to develop manager and team trainings focused on development, culture, and career progression * Coordinate with the People Relations Team to accelerate a culture of innovation and development while providing employees and managers the tools they need to be successful
Ideal Candidate
* 3-5 years of working experience as an HR professional * A proven track record in business partnering with leaders in a fast-moving environment * BA/BS in HR or related field * A thorough understanding of HR practices, including employment law, regulations, and payroll and benefits * A consistent record of successfully working on complicated Employee Relations issues * Ability to deliver effective presentations and draft written content for company-wide distribution * Demonstrated solution-focused thinking, empathy and strong decision-making skills * HR certifications (e.g., coaching, compensation, change management) are a plus
