SRP delivers high-value electricity and water for the benefit of our customers, shareholders and the communities we serve. We are a community-based, nonprofit utility and one of the nation's largest public power utilities. SRP provides electricity to more than 1 million retail customers in a 2,900-square-mile service area that spans three Arizona counties, including most of the metropolitan Phoenix area (known as the Valley).
Summary
Direct and coordinate Data Center activities for all production applications and services. Oversee and support SRP's 24x7 production processing environment and ensure all production batch processing is completed according to service established service levels. Direct Data Center staff to create, monitor and troubleshoot production job streams. Develop and maintain Data Center Operations policies and procedures. Direct IT disaster recovery execution. Manage Data Center output and backup/recovery processes. Manage the Data Center facility and coordinate facility operation with SRP Facilities Services. Direct the design and maintenance of the Data Center to meet identified business objectives and follow industry standards and best practices. Develop and maintain relationships with other IT groups who contribute to the delivery of the solutions to the business.
Responsibilities
- Directs personnel, administers performance feedback, and levels workload across team - Manages employee development - Oversees and approves expenditures and plans of Data Center Operations - Develops projected team budgets - Monitors O&M spend and manage spending to budget - Monitors service levels and corrects performance issues as needed - Coordinate shift activities, ensure coverage, and supervise Data Center staff - Monitor production services for potential problems, provide first-line problem determination and execute corrective action - Work closely with IT staff and user community to resolve problems and provide assistance with problem resolution - Define and implement procedures for availability of production services, scheduling jobs, producing output and backing up systems - Periodically scheduled night and weekend work
Ideal Candidate
**Education** * Completion of a Bachelor's Degree that prepares the employee for the assignment. **Experience** * Seven to ten years experience in computer technology, in positions of increasing responsibility, including project/team leadership and or supervision. **Additional Information** - Demonstrated leadership, teamwork, and customer service skills are essential - Proven communication skills, including the ability to listen, and the ability to form productive working relationships - Project planning, organizational, and time management skills - Ability to successfully deliver technical solutions to business problems - Ability to work with business users and IT technical staff in a team environment - Ability to direct emergency situations with a calm and focused demeanor - Ability to handle multiple tasks simultaneously - Financial management experience developing budgets related to personnel, hardware, and software management - Proven experience in managing projects
