Systems Engineer

HD Supply is one of the largest industrial distributors in North America. Responsible for developing, maintaining, and supporting technical infrastructure, hardware, and system software components for small- to mid-sized projects.

* Performs installation, configuration, maintenance, debugging and support for systems software/hardware, including implementation support for multiple infrastructure platforms on mid-sized and smaller projects. * Tunes platforms to ensure expected availability and performance levels are achieved. Performs root cause analyses for service interruption recoveries. Creates preventative measures and presents to management. * Identifies and tests processes for automation. Performs configuration prior to the quality assurance process. * Develops expert knowledge of industry best practices and uses that knowledge to provide technical support to project team members. * Provides 24/7 on-call support for assigned systems, including investigating and troubleshooting problems. * Discusses issues with users and translates issues to determine appropriate technical solutions. **Nature and Scope** * Demonstrates skill in data analysis techniques by resolving missing/incomplete information and inconsistencies/anomalies in more complex research/data. * Nature of work requires increasing independence; receives guidance only on unusual, complex problems or issues. Work review typically involves periodic review of output by a supervisor and/or direct "customers" of the process. * May provide general guidance/direction to or train junior level support personnel or professional personnel. **Work Environment** * Located in a comfortable indoor area. Any unpleasant conditions would be infrequent and not objectionable. * Most of the time is spent sitting or standing in the same location and/or there may be a need to stoop regularly or move/lift light material or equipment (typically less than 8 pounds). * Typically requires overnight travel less than 10% of the time.

**Minimum Qualifications** * Must be eighteen years of age * Must pass the Drug Test * Must pass the Background Check * Must pass pre-employment tests if applicable **Education and Experience** * Typically requires BS/BA in a related discipline. Generally 2-5 years of experience in a related field; certification is required in some areas OR MS/MA and generally 2-4 years of experience in a related field. In addition, you will be responsible for the world class voice and contact center technologies deployed at HDSupply. **Contact Center Technologies Supported in this role:** * Avaya Contact Center Voice Infrastructure * Avaya Aura Communications Center – multimedia * IVR programming and configuration * Outbound Campaign Manager * Verint Workforce Management * Verint Quality Monitoring * Verint Speech Analytics **Preferred Qualifications** * 3-5 years of systems engineering experience with strong desktop and server skills. * Netorking and Voice communications experience. * Data Center knowledge and experience. * Demonstrated effective verbal, written, and organizational skills. * Strong troubleshooting and analytical skills. * Experience operating with minimal supervision.
