Engineer I - Senior (Trans)

Performs a wide variety of detailed engineering analysis in transmission-related areas such as planning, maintenance, design, project management and construction, and operations. Uses engineering/technical principles, best practices, and knowledge of internal and external business issues to solve problems, develop cost-effective, technically sound solutions, and improve products or services.

- Physical design of electrical power substations. This includes preparing drawings such as plans, elevations, and details for substations as well as grading, drainage, foundation layout, foundation details, structural details, fence layout and site plans. - Develop and evaluate conceptual design options to initiate system projects. - Develop technical descriptions detailing physical design project scope of work for project execution plans and facility studies. - Develop detailed cost estimates for site and foundation work. - Perform engineering analysis/calculations to support substation designs - Create and modify substation drawing in AutoCAD for construction prints and documentations - Develop substation construction package detailing site, foundations and structure designs - Identify, specify and requisition all required substation project materials - Provide quality reviews of construction packages prior to issuance to construction - Provide technical assistance during the construction of projects - Provide design assistance for documentation of substation asset maintenance - Write scope documents and estimate costs of substation projects - Interface with field personnel on all construction issues related to specific projects - Providing guidance to field personnel on maintenance-related projects. - Apply knowledge of engineering principles in evaluating alternatives, making decisions, and interpreting/employing applicable electrical codes, procedures, standards, processes, and policies. - Support activities to comply with applicable industry standards (i.e., FERC, NERC, SERC) and other utility regulations, as required. - Work with other disciplines within the Transmission organization and other company business units to achieve stated goals. * Assist with storm/emergency restoration efforts as necessary.

**Minimum education required of the position** * Bachelor's Degree in Engineering (Civil Discipline) from four-year accredited institution. Degrees in engineering technology (Civil) from a four-year accredited institution with PE may be considered. **Minimum experience required of the position** * 0- 5 years of experience as a Civil Engineer **Minimum knowledge, skills and abilities required of the position** * Knowledgeable of engineering principles. * Ability to understand and comply with procedures, programs, and standards in responsible area. * Good leadership skills. * Good interpersonal skills along with strong written and oral communication skills. * Excellent math skills. * Excellent project management skills. * Good knowledge of Personal Computer operations and related software. * Ability to manage multiple activities and changing priorities. * Ability to work well under pressure. * Required to work safely and follow all Entergy safety policies and procedures. * Ability to recognize hazards in the workplace and have the ability to mitigate the hazards. * Demonstrated acceptance of a diverse and inclusive work environment and customer base. * Ability to recognize opportunities for process improvement and have the ability to enact change. * Any certificates, licenses, etc. required for the position
