Summary
Sailthru is seeking an experienced marketing strategist to help build our Strategy & Optimization team. This individual will report to our Director of Customer Strategy & Optimization and serve in a cross-functional capacity, working closely with our account management, data science, product and marketing teams. S/he will lead various optimization projects and will act as an internal voice of the customer in understanding customer needs from marketing and analytics perspectives as well as serve as as an outward evangelist for Sailthru’s entire product suite. The Strategist, Customer Strategy & Optimization will work on quantitative deep dives, strategic roadmaps and rigorous testing plans for our ecommerce and publishing clients, evaluating customer behaviors and driving strategic recommendations, execution and analysis tailored to clients’ unique needs and business models.
Responsibilities
This position is a great opportunity for someone with a proven track record in marketing analytics or business intelligence who is comfortable in a fast-paced and data-intensive environment. Strong leadership, strategic thinking, flexibility and an ability to form data-driven opinions and recommendations are crucial to the success of this role.
Ideal Candidate
* 4+ years of relevant experience (direct marketing, analytics, business intelligence or other quantitative/analytical function) * Strength and comfort using both Excel and other business intelligence tools (candidates will be tested on their skills); familiarity with Google Analytics and other web analytics packages strongly preferred * Ability to quickly learn and adopt new software, reporting tools and processes * Familiarity with customer segmentation models * Understanding of basic statistical concepts including significance testing and regressions * Excellent verbal and written communication as well as strong interpersonal skills * Strong attention to detail, and proven ability to work under pressure and tight deadlines * Ability to prioritize, self-manage, and seek help when necessary * Personality that thrives in a fast-paced, results-oriented work environment * Experience building and delivering presentations that are coherent, well-organized and compelling; candidates must be confident in presenting to large groups, including executive-level stakeholders (“stand and deliver” presentation will be required as part of the interview process) * Comfort working cross-functionally, coordinating disparate projects and managing many details * Bachelor’s degree in a related field
