Summary
Priceline.com is seeking a Web Analytics analyst to play a pivotal role in our web analytics effort including tracking and extracting business insights from user behavior data on Priceline.com. The Web Analytics specialist is part of the Customer Conversion analytics team at Priceline.com, a small, agile team powering one of the top travel brands on the web by leveraging the extensive amounts of data at our disposal. As a Web Analytics Analyst, you will need to think quantitatively, analytically and creatively to help achieve business success at Priceline. Your main focus will be with tool management and configuration to ensure accurate data collection, but you will also need to have a solid understanding of A/B testing and experience with BI tools to aid your analysis. The ideal candidate can lead end-to-end web analytics projects from tracking planning, tag implementation and quality assurance to data analysis. Candidates should have experience in business analytics with a strong focus on web analytics technologies. You will need to apply data-based findings to generate specific site improvements. You will be working closely with our product managers, developers and designers and should possess excellent critical thinking skills along with strong written and verbal communication skills. An in-depth knowledge of web analytics terminology, KPI creation, pathing and engagement analysis and strong testing experience are required. You will also have proven skills working with internal clients in the marketing team to understand their business needs, and to respond with appropriate recommendations. Candidates should be able to measure and analyze, but more importantly be able to provide insights for change and guidance for improvement across our business units. The position can be based out of either or Manhattan or Norwalk, CT offices.
Responsibilities
* Strategically develop and implement web analytics code to enable tracking of online properties. * Ensure relevant traffic and key performance metrics are captured in order to provide actionable insights. * Document strategies and processes and recommend improvements * Implement and configure analytics platforms and facilitate analytics code implementations * Analytical thinking with a data-driven approach to problem solving * Gather and prioritize requirements and opportunities based on business metrics * Identify strategic opportunities using data and set them in motion * Challenge the status quo, propose innovative solutions and compel change
Ideal Candidate
* Bachelor's degree or equivalent in economics, statistics, computer science, business or related field, graduate degree in the relevant field is a plus. * 2+ experience working with web analytics and tag management tools, preferably Google Analytics Premium (Analytics 360) and Google Tag Manager (Tag Manager 360). * Have a solid understanding in creating user segments, setting up goals and ecommerce tracking, configuring web analytics tool according to business requirements, and managing user access. * Lead web analytics projects from tracking planning, implementation (in collaboration with developers), QA and extracting data for analysis. * Enjoy using data (big and small) to come to actionable conclusions. * Demonstrated ability to learn and master new subject areas quickly. * Strong written and verbal communication skills and ability to collaborate and work in a small team with little direction. * Proficiency in Excel and other analytics tools such as Tableau, R or Python. * Preferably having basic knowledge in Javascript and Regular Expression.
