Summary
This position will be responsible for all Payroll tax activities pertaining to the filing of federal, state and local payroll tax returns and payments according to federal, state and local regulations in a fast paced corporate environment.
Responsibilities
* Process weekly tax payment for multiple Tax Jurisdiction and multiple states * File monthly, quarterly and annual tax returns such as 941, 941X, 940, 945, as well as state tax returns for withholding and unemployment. * Reconcile tax payments and wages to W2s for both Federal and State * Interact with Federal, state, and local tax agencies. * File amended Tax Returns including issuing W2Cs * Perform Analysis to ensure Payments and Tax Returns are all reconciled including balancing to PeopleSoft and MasterTax. * Analyze PeopleSoft Tax reports to ensure taxable wages are accurate at the employee and company levels * Internal reporting * Research and analysis on a variety of Federal, state, and local tax matters. * Perform due diligence task registering companies for withholding and unemployment purposes * Research Account Reconciliation issues (over/under payments) * Perform testing to ensure adequate system changes for both MasterTax and PeopleSoft * Review executive compensation * Support team members on other tasks such as garnishment administration and payroll deduction disbursements * Address employee inquiries requesting duplicate W2s
Ideal Candidate
* 5 years of payroll and payroll tax processing experience supporting a large payroll process with multiple payroll runs and multiple state payroll operations * Excellent organizational skills * Detailed oriented for accurate results * Highly motivated individual with excellent time management skills * Excellent communication skills, both oral and written * Strong Excel and Word skills * Responsible team player **Additional Desired Qualifications** * PeopleSoft 9.1 or greater system knowledge * MasterTax system knowledge * Certifications – APA Certification-CPP
