Summary
The Manager, Payroll is responsible for managing all global payroll activities and managing payroll resources in North America and Europe. This role requires the ability to simultaneously manage tasks to meet established standards and deadlines while ensuring accuracy across all payroll functions. The position is based out of company headquarters, reporting to the VP, People Operations.
Responsibilities
* Manage bi-weekly payroll process for 500+ employees in 10 countries and ensure all payroll transactions are processed accurately and timely * Manage payroll processes related to international mobility and EXPAT assignments * Manage tax deductions, remittances and compliance filings while ensuring all deadlines are met * Handle all day-to-day payroll functions, including new hires, terminations, bonuses, direct deposits, wage garnishments, vacation accruals, tax changes, off-cycle check, healthcare premium deductions, ESPP and stock vests * Provide required reporting to finance and accounting teams for financial reporting and account reconciliations * Train and mentor Payroll professionals in career development and growth * Stay informed on current issues and tax changes and implement government requirements * Maintain internal control processes and policies related to payroll processing * Provide exceptional customer service to the Rubicon Project employees concerning requests for information, while researching and resolving discrepancies timely and accurately * Notify payroll processers of any payroll changes or updates
Ideal Candidate
* Bachelor’s degree in accounting, finance, or business administration preferred and/or 5-7 years of advanced payroll experience * 2+ years of people management experience * Certified Payroll Professional (CPP) certification preferred * Knowledge of international tax laws, employment status and overtime requirements * Strong PC skills including in Excel * Knowledge and experience with Workday software preferred * Excellent problem solving and judgement skills with strong attention to detail and accuracy * Ability to deal sensitively with confidential material * Ability to work with various levels of management * Must be customer service-oriented * Ability to work autonomously and independently under pressure * Excellent verbal and written communication skills * Aligned with Rubicon Project’s cultural values
