Blackboard Inc. is seeking an experienced Senior Payroll Specialist who is highly proficient in administering payroll for employees.
Responsibilities
* Leading the preparation and processing of payroll for Blackboard’s 3,000+ domestic and international employees; reviewing and ensuring accuracy. * Overseeing the setup and audit of employee data; payroll maintenance; and monitoring of data interface with HRIS System. * Reviewing the work product of Payroll Specialist for accuracy and processing * Leading departments internal initiatives and projects with minimal management oversight * Mentoring and training of existing and new Payroll Specialists in the department * Researching payroll issues concerning earnings, deductions, taxes, vacation, expense reimbursement etc. and effectively communicate the results of that research to employees. * Ensuring a high level of customer service is provided to both internal and external customers. * Support the development, updating and monitoring of all internal controls to accurately report financial information for the payroll department in a lead role. * Partnering with HR, accounting, tax, legal and various other functional areas, to provide data and reports as needed and to ensure responsive resolution of employee payroll issues/inquiries. * Supporting in a lead role payroll integration efforts and supporting the on-boarding of additional employees joining the company through acquisitions. * Supporting various initiatives related to payroll including mergers and acquisitions, international expansion, process improvements, financial and regulatory audits, etc. * Develop and oversee a compliance process that ensures timely filing and payment of payroll related taxes * Monitor compliance with payroll tax regulations for domestic and international entities
Ideal Candidate
* Bachelor’s degree required; CPP preferred * 4-6 years of prior relevant payroll experience for a mid-size, global company. * Working knowledge of processing international payroll including Latin America, Canada, UK, Europe, China, Australia and other international locations * Proven experience with Ultipro, Peoplesoft, EZLabor Manager, Oracle Fusion Time and Labor highly desired. * Familiarity with multi-state payroll tax withholding. * Excellent verbal and written communication, presentation skills and relationship management. * Familiarity with multi-state payroll tax withholding is a critical requirement of the position
