Summary
This quality technician position will be responsible for reviewing submissions and coordinating activities relating to nonconforming material (NCM) issues to ensure that materials and products comply with quality standards, and NCM process is carried out efficiently and effectively.
Responsibilities
* Perform quality inspections on incoming, in-process, or outbound materials based on established inspection standards and tools. Record data and communicate inspection results to stakeholders. * Conduct investigations of NCM, work with stakeholders to reach agreement on usage decision, document usage decisions and coordinate related tasks to ensure timely disposition of NCM and minimize process down time. * Coordinate containment efforts to ensure that known quality risks are under control. * Participate in the Corrective Action Process as subject matter expert in inspection and containment of NCMs. * Support overall quality control strategy by assisting in the creation or revision of quality inspection plans, inspection standards and guidelines, and NCM procedures. * Continually seek opportunities to improve the efficiency and effectiveness of the NCM process through regular monitoring of NCM process metrics and analysis of data. * Support culture of excellence and learning by adopting and sharing best practices.
Ideal Candidate
**Basic Qualifications:** * Vo-Tech Certificate or Associate Degree, and a minimum of 5 years applicable experience in mfg or operations environment, and a minimum of 2 years in Quality. * High School Diploma or GED, and a minimum of 9 years in a mfg or operations environment, and a minimum of 2 years in Quality. **All candidates must have the following:** * Operational and programming experience with Coordinate Measuring Machine (CMM) and Faro Arm or other portable CMM. * Experience in working with a variety of inspection tools. **Preferred Qualifications:** * Experienced with elements in SAP Quality Module and other related components, such as inspection lots, inspection plans, quality notifications, material information and status in inventory, purchasing systems, and engineering change systems. * Strong understanding of manufacturing process, Quality Management System (ISO9001). * Ability to interact with and align cross-functional stakeholders to meet objectives of NCM process. * Proficient user of Microsoft Office. * Experience in working with micrometers, calipers, profilometers, surface plates, dial indicators, bore gauges, optical comparators, and depth micrometers for inspection tools. * Familiar with Calypso software for CMM. * Knowledge of Geometric Dimensioning and Tolerancing. * Quality Technician certification preferred. * Six Sigma Green Belt certification preferred.
