Responsibilities
  • Ensure effective and efficient Quality Systems are in place to produce products which meet customer expectations (Better, Faster, Lower Cost);
  • Document the conformance process to ISO quality system and internal/external standards: Lead quality management activities so policies and procedures conform to ISO standards;
  • Champion the continuous improvement initiatives that will bring about positive cultural change within the organization;
  • Work closely with the Engineering and Production departments as part of the overall leadership team.

Duties:

  • Assess and monitor the effectiveness of the quality system through managing the internal audit program, preventive action analysis, and customer complaints. Perform internal quality audits, review audit findings, and recommend corrective action. Serve as facilitator and coach on projects and continuous improvement teams to provide support, focus, and energy to achieve effective problem solving and improvement.
  • Champion the development and implementation of quality plans and continuous improvement initiatives such as control plans, failure/root cause analysis, Six Sigma, Lean, SPC, DOE’s, Ultrasonic inspection, and process capability studies.
  • Establish, maintain, and continuously improve the Quality Management System. Work with the document control coordinator and plant employees in documenting processes so that operations are completed in compliance with ISO requirements and company policies. Establish, monitor, and report quality metrics. Assist Engineering and Production departments in making decisions that effect overall operations.
  • Work closely with Production and Engineering in troubleshooting problematic areas and finding root causes and corrective actions to product, process or quality system nonconformity reports. Assist with scrap detail and internal nonconformance reporting.
  • Provide employee training in Quality Assurance, Continual Improvement.
  • Assist as needed for review and disposition authority for material review board. Conduct reviews of non-conforming material (WIP and customer returns).

  • Quality Management System - Responsible for the effectiveness of the quality management system and monitors, reports on and advises how the system is performing against set parameters.

  • Customer Complaints - Responsible for the reduction of customer complaints for the plant and effective and responsive corrective actions.
  • Internal Audits, Corrective/Preventive Action, Customer Complaint System. Ensure effectiveness of these systems and timely response to issues. Take responsibility for ensuring the execution of corrective actions and ongoing compliance with customer specifications.
  • Continual Improvement - promoting quality achievement and performance improvement in the facility;
  • Assist in setting up and maintaining controls and documentation; pinpointing relevant quality-related training needs; analyzing performance data and charts against defined parameters.
Ideal Candidate
  • Excellent leadership skills as well as strong analytical skills and ability to manage multiple priorities are required.
  • Effective communication is necessary and interaction among others at various levels in the organization is expected.
  • A Bachelors degree in Engineering or an ASQ CQE with 2 years related Quality Work experience is required.
  • Engineering with Manufacturing Background.
