Summary
Manages and assures compliance to the Division Quality Management System (QMS) to assure that all products manufactured by the organization meet customer specifications and achieves superior quality and reliability levels.
Responsibilities
**Essential Functions and Responsibilities** * Manages all duties and responsibilities in accordance with Caraustar QMS policies and procedures. Ensures that Subordinates are trained and aware of the requirements of Caraustar Standards and Procedures. * Ensures conformity of purchased material and final products to meet quality standards. * Coaching and training of site personnel to changes in Policies and Procedures. This position is considered the site Quality Champion. * Coordinates site QMS changes. * Ensures site level document control. * Meets with vendors, customers, quality representatives and company personnel to discuss and resolve quality problems as required. * Prepares for and represents the company during all audits. * Coordinates and reviews all sample submissions of new products and engineering changes. Makes suggestions for changes to the process. * Prepares all necessary reports as required by customers and staff personnel. * Coordinates investigations and prepares customer complaint responses. * Ensures safe and healthy workplace. **Other Responsibilities** * Comply in all respects with the provisions of the Caraustar Standards of Business Conduct Policy required.
Ideal Candidate
* Bachelor’s degree preferred or some college coursework taken focusing on packaging, statistics, science, business, or engineering with 2-7 years’ experience in either engineering, quality systems management, or manufacturing operations. * Experience with statistical analysis, precision measurements and process capability a must. * Fundamental understanding of ISO 9001 quality systems and structure. * Working knowledge of industry standards of common quality assurance practices. * Excellent communication skills a must. * Ability to establish and/or maintain good working relationships with employees and customers.
