Responsibilities
- Provide a wide range of HR support services to multiple audiences - Participates in recruitment and employment process - Responsible for compensation administration and analysis, benefits administration, employee relations, training and education, personnel records and payroll management, HR policy interpretation and information dissemination - Initiates all (electronic and paper) forms for payroll actions including hiring, salary changes, bonus/supplements, terminations, etc. (ISRs). This includes electronic time entry for hourly employees and processing teaching assistant payments. - Works with faculty and staff to create staff job descriptions and prepare personnel requisitions for submission to Human Resources. - Acts as the department liaison to the School’s employment recruiters and compensation analysts as it relates to personnel requisitions. - Coordinates annual merit review process, using departmental and University guidelines to advise management on merit increases. - Monitors payroll reports such as control salary and overpayments and coordinates with department administrator to determine necessary action. - Monitors and serves as timekeeper for staff electronic time and attendance system. Assists and advises employees on sick time, vacation time, holidays, leave of absence, family medical leave, payroll, tuition reimbursement, benefits, deductions, etc. - Serves as department liaison; preparing visa sponsorship documents, and ensuring all visa applications and extensions are submitted completely and correctly. Maintains system for monitoring work authorizations and prompting international employees, visiting faculty and students when action is required. - Creates and maintains employee personnel records, payroll files - Organizes process for appointments of new faculty and postdoctoral student as well as reappointments and promotions ensuring accuracy and completeness of information. - May assist the financial team with special projects and other duties as assigned.
Ideal Candidate
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills - High attention to detail - Proficiency in Microsoft Office programs - 4 year degree in Human Resources, Business Administration, or similar field - 2-3 years progressive experience in Human Resources
Compensation and Working Conditions
Hourly Pay $17 - $20
