Summary
The Director of Human Resources has a unique opportunity to help shape the culture of CloudPassage as it navigates the stages of a high growth startup in a burgeoning industry. Candidates should have experience building high-performance teams and a passion for building an employee-focused culture. The HR Director will be the HR department initially. Therefore, the right individual must be willing to get his/her hands dirty putting in place policies and systems necessary for the foundation of the HR function, growing the team as the Company scales. The HR Director will manage the overall provision of Human Resources services, policies and programs to the CloudPassage community, reporting to the Chief Financial Officer.
Responsibilities
- Organization and employee development - Involved in all aspects of organizational development, including workforce development, manager training, employee retention, organizational design, and change management; - Identifies and monitors the organization’s culture so that it supports the attainment of company goals and promotes employee satisfaction; - Managers to define career paths within their organizations; works with employees on their career development goals and progress toward them; - Key role in communications between executive management and the employee base. - Partnering with senior management on employee relations matters, from policy development to investigations - Recommends employee relations practices designed to maintain a high level of employee morale and motivation; - Earns the trust of the employee base and proactively addresses potential issues before they become problems; - Monitors and advises managers on performance issues and progressive discipline; - Conducts investigations as needed; - Keeps an eye on compliance requirements; - Compensation, benefits administration, employee wellness - Leads the development of the Company’s overall compensation philosophy and practices; - Works with management to implement the Company’s compensation structure, ensuring that the Company is competitive in the market; - Proposes and implements overall wellness initiatives. - Recruiting, staffing and onboarding - Will help build a market presence for the Company that attracts highly-qualified candidates in a very competitive market; - Will work closely with outsourced talent acquisition team, while assisting the evaluation of whether to build an internal capability; - Improve current process for onboarding / orientation. - Designing and implementing a performance review system - Advises on, and implements, a performance review system emphasizing regular feedback to employees; - Works with managers to implement a performance improvement process with non-performing employees; reviews and monitors performance improvement plans. - Space planning - Works with the rest of the finance teem to forecast space needs for the SF Bay Area and worldwide.
Ideal Candidate
* High energy and creativity in addressing HR issues; not afraid to break new ground. * Highly trustworthy - evidence of the practice of a high level of confidentiality. * Excellent interpersonal and coaching skills across the full spectrum of seniority. * Excellent oral, written and quantitative (as it relates to HR issues) communication skills. * Broad knowledge and experience in employment law, compensation, organization development, employee relations, and training and development. * General knowledge of employment laws and practices; knows when to call a lawyer and when to trust his/her own experience. * Experience in the administration of benefits and compensation programs and other Human Resources programs. **Education and Experience** * Bachelor's degree * Ten plus years of progressive leadership experience in Human Resources positions, including experience in high growth companies * Specialized training in employment law, compensation, organizational planning, organization development and/or employee relations, a plus * Active affiliation with appropriate Human Resources networks and organizations, a plus * Network of HR leaders in successful companies that practice effective Human Resources management, a plus
