While the Lenovo brand came into existence only in 2004, the company has a much longer history. In 1984, Legend Holdings was formed with 200,000 RMB (US$25,000) in a guard house in China. The company was incorporated in Hong Kong in 1988 and would grow to be the largest PC company in China. Legend Holdings changed its name to Lenovo in 2004 and, in 2005, acquired the former Personal Computer Division of IBM, the company that invented the PC industry in 1981.
Responsibilities
* Develop and maintain an effective set of tools for planning, tracking, analyzing, and reporting on all categories of marketing funds, including retail, media, search, and social media * Work closely with the rest of the Consumer Marketing Team to develop and track marketing * Interface with partners to secure optimal usage of available third-party funds * Publish quarterly marketing program communication and track compliance * Lead the annual review and renewal of marketing vendor SOWs and contracts
Ideal Candidate
* Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Business Administration, Marketing, or similar discipline * 3-5 years in a corporate finance, accounting or marketing department, or similar, with budget management experience * Results oriented individual, with experience of building marketing plans and budgeting for those plans * Proven ability to establish relationships at all levels of the organization * Ability to learn quickly and be creative in problem solving * Excellent verbal and written communication and presentation skills * Proficiency in MS Excel and PowerPoint * Ideally would have technology industry experience
