While the Lenovo brand came into existence only in 2004, the company has a much longer history. In 1984, Legend Holdings was formed with 200,000 RMB (US$25,000) in a guard house in China. The company was incorporated in Hong Kong in 1988 and would grow to be the largest PC company in China. Legend Holdings changed its name to Lenovo in 2004 and, in 2005, acquired the former Personal Computer Division of IBM, the company that invented the PC industry in 1981.
Responsibilities
* Serves as the training lead and liaison for the NA Inside Sales organization * Plan and lead new hire training classes for individuals hired in to the Lenovo inside sales organization * Exercises functional leadership as the geo’s sales team performance and development expert for inside sales * Leads on-going education and curriculum development for the inside sales organization * Leads in the ongoing training needs analysis to define geo-specific sales training requirements for the inside sales team; recommends appropriate training solutions; leads/participates in the design, development, and delivery of training programs and events * Partners with the Sales Learning & Development colleagues to design, develop and deliver strategic learning offerings to support the geo’s strategic initiatives * Project manages training development and deliver activities * Works under the direction of the Senior Manager of NA Sales Learning & Development * Collaborates closely with the Product and Marketing Teams to understand Lenovo product offerings and related sales strategies—from technical specs to value proposition to go to market strategies * Regularly collaborates and partners with Sales, Marketing and Product Executives * Leads training needs analysis and performance consulting efforts to drive business results and optimize individual and organizational performance * Leverages team resources, capabilities, tools, systems, and expertise as well as those of other Lenovo training organizations to address defined business training needs * Reports the measured impact of a training intervention to the geo stakeholders * Monitors, delivers, and interprets ROI metrics for business impact, adoption, utilization, and alignment
Ideal Candidate
* Minimum of 5+ years of corporate training experience, preferably in the design, development and delivery of sales training * Experience working within or working with channel selling organization and training team preferred * Technology knowledge preferred * Must be able to effectively work with a range of stakeholders including executives, other subject matter experts, as well as instructional designers and multimedia developers * Excellent project management skills * Results driven, team player * Good presentation skills * Excellent verbal/ written communication skills are required * Technical support, pre-sales support, installation or sales experience in the technology industry is a preferred * Must be able to effectively balance strong technical skills with solid relationship-building capabilities * Proficient knowledge of PowerPoint, Excel, and Outlook * Must have the ability to drive for results and a passion to win * Must have the desire to collaborate, build, strong, influential relationships, and effectively influence decisions
