Responsibilities
The Senior Content Manager supervises and trains a staff of Writers, Editors and Social Media marketers. This person provides a foundation for content curation, works in a content management system, edits written content and pushes content live to company marketing websites. This person supervises and approves all social media posts for marketing purposes and is responsible for motivating and coaching all members of the Content Team. **COMPANY VALUES – Expectations** - Firm dedication to the company values (I Am EPIC – Integrity, Agility, Excellence, Passion, Innovation, Community) - Creates and fosters an atmosphere of creativity and collaboration among team members and across departments and projects - Provides inspirational leadership for Content Creators who want to advance through the company - Serve as a role model for other managers in the company **MAJOR RESPONSIBILITIES** - To serve as a managing editor by supervising, managing, motivating and guiding a team of Content Creators and Social Media Marketers - To execute content strategies derived from the Marketing Director or Senior Marketing Director - To facilitate new ideas, tactics and strategies related to storytelling, content presentation and outreach - To curate content and ensure an efficient process for getting that content onto one or more of our lead-generation websites - To edit content for company websites and related affiliate websites - To set and uphold high content SEO standards - To set and uphold high content standards - To manage freelance or contract content creators and editors - Supervise Social Media specialist (if applicable) or supervise regular and consistent quality social media practices for all applicable platforms (Facebook, Twitter, Instagram, LinkedIn etc.) - To work with SEO Coordinator, SEO Specialist, Marketing Director and Senior Marketing Director by executing content and outreach strategies that align with company goals
Ideal Candidate
- Four-year degree in Journalism, English, Advertising, Marketing or related field - At least 8 years of experience in content-related field, including at least 3 years as an assigning editor, copy editor or website/publication editor - At least 3 years of experience as a manager, supervisor or team leader - Knowledge of AP and APA styles - A demonstrated working knowledge of modern SEO (title tags, meta data) - Demonstrated experienced working in a CMS such as WordPress - Knowledge of Google Gmail and Google apps - Time-management skills - Proven ability to work in MS Word, Google docs - Excellent written and verbal communication skills - A desire to be epic **Bonus Qualifications** - Owning a personal website or blog - A history of being a professional writer - A familiarity with Google or other website analytics - An understanding of link profiles - An understanding of website development - An intimate knowledge of WordPress - Having a positive social media footprint - Knowledge of HTML and CSS - Knowledge of PhotoShop
