Responsibilities
We are looking for a tech-savvy, energetic individual who has a passion for social and traditional media. The Specialist will work in conjunction with management, fundraising and program staff to ensure our internal and external communications is focused, targeted and delivered via the right mediums. Areas of responsibility include management and implementation of Traditional Marketing, Social Media, Web Site Maintenance and Web Marketing. - Work with management, program and fundraising staff to develop a comprehensive marketing plan to raise awareness for the foundation offerings, and increase demand by program users and potential funders. - Work with program and fundraising staff to implement the plan. - Manage outside PR counsel, in conjunction with management. - Ensure cohesive and motivating messaging via social media, web sites, online methods, traditional media and PR. - Work with Fundraising manager to develop and execute a plan around all web and social network fundraising features, working with internal resources and external suppliers to generate content in support of Fundraiser’s goals. - Work with Fundraising manager to develop of fundraising/awareness Tool Kits to support volunteer fundraisers (Trustees, Chapters, members). - Work with association staff to ensure Foundation is integrated to all association marketing messaging, including events. - Copy write and edit website content, update social media platforms including Facebook, LinkedIn, and Twitter, and internal/external blogs, case studies, and white papers. - Post on all social media outlets daily with the specific goal of increasing number of “likes" and “followers", and driving site traffic. o Monitor and report out on social media conversations, including topics discussed, keywords, number of conversations - Track and report results of all media, social media, traditional media and PR efforts. - Work closely with the IT team to ensure we’re fully leveraging the website for maximum impact/results - Research new marketing opportunities - Update program brand materials such as brochures, slipsheets, giveaways, etc. **Qualifications:** - Possesses knowledge and experience in the tenets of traditional marketing. - Marketing degree is welcomed but not required with relevant work experience. - Minimum 4 years of experience in web development and strategy, social media and marketing is required; marketing in support of fundraising is a plus. - Understanding of the principles of public relations and/or marketing • Is a team player with the confidence to take the lead and guide other employees when necessary (i.e.: content development, creation and editing of content, and online reputation management). - Displays ability to effectively communicate information and ideas in written and video format. - Makes evident good technical understanding and can pick up new tools quickly. - Maintains a working knowledge of principles of SEO including keyword research.
Ideal Candidate
- Possesses knowledge and experience in the tenets of traditional marketing. - Marketing degree is welcomed but not required with relevant work experience. - Minimum 4 years of experience in web development and strategy, social media and marketing is required; marketing in support of fundraising is a plus. - Understanding of the principles of public relations and/or marketing Strong analytic skills - Project management experience a plus - Knowledge of and experience with nonprofit associations, is tremendously valuable. - Proficiency in Microsoft Outlook, Excel and Word - Excellent interpersonal, written and verbal communication skills are required. - Exceptional organizational skills and attention to detail is required. - Ability to effectively manage multiple projects, tasks and deadlines is required. - Must possess the ability to work independently while keeping supervisor apprised of opportunities, issues, problems and progress. - Willingness to travel is required, including overnight and weekend travel. **Physical & Mental:** - Travel up to 10% of time. - Work extended hours or overtime, when necessary - Work in an office environment using dual monitor computer screens - Sitting for extended periods
