Senior Benefits Coordinator

The Sr. Benefits Coordinator is a key member of our Corporate Benefits Team. In this critical role, the Sr. Benefits Coordinator:
- Acts as the liaison among key stakeholders (employees, carrier, HR, legal, managers) for the organization's disability and leave programs which includes leveraging carrier reports to update employee leave status and enter disability payments into the HR system
- Is the face of the Benefits Department to stakeholders and is responsible for understanding the impacts of leave statuses and payments within the context of all benefits, payroll, and data files to vendor partners
- Has responsibility for some benefits compliance including (SOX, Summary Annual Reports)
- Facilitates the monthly new hire benefits orientation on an every other month basis alternating with another team member
- Handles QMCSOs
- Maintains employee files when needed
- Acts as a back up to the team's Benefits Administrators, and
- Works closely with the Wellness Manager for the implementation of wellness programs, challenges, and
Experience-Education Required:
- Bachelors Degree (Benefits Certification/Designation acceptable in lieu of degree)
- 5+ years experience working with disability plans (at the employer or carrier level)
- 5+ years experience with FMLA and State Leaves (recent experience since 2008 is necessary)
- General benefits experience
- Experience with employer payroll system - big picture as well as details of how payroll operates within the organization and the impact of particular actions taken within payroll and statuses within the system
- Recent experience with a large employer with multiple benefit plans and eligibility
