Summary
The Sr. Director, Product Marketing is the nougaty center in between Sales, Marketing and Product. Think the ‘Product’ Wizard of Oz meets Don Draper. They will be accountable for crafting IgnitionOne’s product story so marketers drool when they hear it. As a member of the Product team, this magical unicorn will work very closely with Sales to help develop our go to market strategy and make IgnitionOne a must-have digital marketing platform. We are looking for an experienced product marketing leader with a track record of successfully marketing complex, global advertising/marketing tech products and solutions. He/she must have the ability to grasp and translate technical capabilities into customer benefits and work with Sales and Marketing to find ways to convey those benefits. The Sr. Director, Product Marketing must have relevant digital advertising industry expertise and understand the needs of the digital marketer as well as key industry trends. Knowledge and experience with the digital marketing technology landscape at large, but specifically Programmatic Display, data management, big data, Search and Analytics a huge plus. As a key member of the marketing team, the Sr. Director will also own or support other initiatives in support of the business including recruiting and developing product marketing talent, process improvements and other efforts.
Responsibilities
**Primary Responsibilities:** He/she will need an intimate knowledge of all aspects of our product and product roadmap and owns how it is presented to the market. While Sales and Marketing have input and control aspects of that message, Product Marketing should own it. If the product had a PR person, Product Marketing would be it. **Success:** * Good product positioning against competition. Doesn't mean following or merely differentiating from the competition, but how, perhaps, do we position differently to the current market. * Sales being 'armed' with the right story and messaging * Showing a strong voice in the creation of collateral and the story for story-telling * Possessing intimate knowledge of the product * Ability to sit beside the product teams and channel their voice/vision * Develop product positioning and messaging that differentiates IgnitionOne’s products and solutions in the market * Product launch/ GTM – plan the launch of new products and solutions and manage the cross-functional implementation of the go-to-market plan * Market intelligence – be the expert on our target customers and their needs / objectives * Competitive – be the expert on our competition and how to compete effectively; develop actionable feedback loops from customers and field contacts that directly impact marketing and product execution
Ideal Candidate
* 7+ years of experience in product marketing in digital advertising, agency or technology companies * BA, preferably in Business or Marketing; MBA preferred * Very strong written communication skills, specifically ‘storytelling’; exceptional presentation skills (visual design oversight, talk track development & oral presentation) * Excellent people and management skills to interact with staff, colleagues, cross-functional teams and third parties
