Responsibilities
* Develop, communicate, and implement the LegalZoom brand voice and copy strategy. * Write and edit compelling, original, clear, concise and consistent messaging that solidly reflects our brand voice. * Turn complex topics and ideas into concise, understandable and evocative content and messaging that resonate with target audiences. * Apply content and brand guidelines to all content published * Translate marketing objectives into creative content that aligns with LegalZoom style, brand standards and goals. * Collaborate with designers, product managers, marketers, search engine optimization experts and legal, to ensure that all content across all channels meets the needs of our various user bases. * Apply digital marketing best practices to ensure optimized sales impact of the messaging * Develop and own content manuals and style guides * Lead and participate in brainstorming sessions and serve as a key driver of organizational messaging that strengthens the LegalZoom brand and gives us a unique, fresh and consistent voice. * Collaborate with Creative Director, UX, Art Directors, and Product Marketing teams to integrate copy into designs and strive for maximum messaging impact. * Write scripts and other material for consumer-facing sales and customer care teams. * Proactively keep an eye out for discrepancies and follow up accordingly.
Ideal Candidate
* Preferred Bachelor’s degree or equivalent in English, journalism, marketing, advertising or a related field with a minimum of 5-7 years of professional creative writing and copy editing experience in digital advertising, ecommerce; social media and SEO * Strong and clear writer and editor with experience crafting effective sales and marketing copy. * Detail-oriented, with the ability to work well under deadline. * Must think strategically and holistically, be a strong communicator and have excellent collaboration and customer service skills. * Demonstrated proficiency in copy editing and proofreading using AP Style * Strong conceptual and visual creative skills with the understanding of the marriage of copy and design * Excellent reading and written language skills (English) * Able to multi-task and be flexible and adaptive to changing priorities * Excellent organizational and time management skills * Experience working in SCRUM/AGILE is a plus
