Summary
Responsible for report and model development, budget management and financial planning and analysis primarily for servicing the mortgage, condo portfolios, and debt facilities. Works independently and must be extremely analytical and precise. Should be able to identify problems with the organization’s control structure and formulate alternative solutions to these problems. Exercises independent judgment and discretion in carrying out duties. Performs financial analysis and interacts with operational personnel on financial and accounting matters. Prepares complex financial reports and models including budgets, static pool analysis, and forecasting projects.
Responsibilities
* Create and maintain key performance standards * Lead budgeting and forecasting efforts * Develop models, analyses, trends and forecasts * Administer and complete special projects as requested; including static pool analysis * Establish standard operating procedures to improve internal controls * Analyze monthly department budgeting and accounting reports to maintain expenditure controls * Consult with managers to ensure that budget adjustments are made in accordance with operational changes * Provide advice and technical assistance with cost analysis, fiscal allocation, and budget preparation * Seek new ways to improve efficiency and increase profits * Review operating budgets to analyze trends affecting budget needs * Perform cost-benefits analyses to compare operating programs, review financial requests, and explore alternative financing methods * Compile and analyze accounting records and other data to determine the financial resources required to implement a program
Ideal Candidate
* Minimum of 2 years prior financial analyst experience. * Prior static pool experience desired * PC knowledge; includes spreadsheet and database software. * Excellent problem solving skills and multi-tasking abilities. * Good organizational skills with attention to detail. * Ability to establish and maintain effective working relationships with co-workers and supervisors. * Ability of handling multiple projects simultaneously. * Participates in proactive team efforts to achieve departmental and company goals. * Carries out any reasonable request by management of which the employee is capable of performing. **Education:** * Bachelor’s Degree in Finance, Accounting or Business Administration with prior accounting / finance experience required.
