Summary

The Controller will serve as an important member of the corporate financial leadership team. The individual will serve as a key financial interface to the CEO, CFO, senior management team and Board of Directors. The Controller will be responsible for the accounting and reporting functions at the corporate level. He/she will direct the development and administration of the accounting systems, practices and procedures which reflect operating costs, budgets and profitability.

Responsibilities
  • Maintain the Company’s accounting records in accordance with legal, regulatory and general accepted accounting principles.
  • Provide timely preparation, interpretation and analysis of financial data statements.
  • Ensure that all general ledger accounts are reconciled accurately and in a timely manner.
  • Implement best practices with regard to processes and controls.
  • Align and manage the accounting team.
  • Oversee the billing and collection function.
  • Perform quarterly and annual financial planning and budgeting.
  • Coordinate preparation of Federal, State and local company tax returns.
  • Supervise all accounting related systems and procedures to improve operational efficiencies while maintaining or improving service.
  • Provide projections for financial condition and performance under various scenarios in order to assist management in decision making. Prepare accurate and timely financial reporting for executive management and third parties as needed.
  • Develop and monitor key performance indicators (KPI’s) with all departments.
  • Interface with third-party CPA firm to support annual audit.
Ideal Candidate
  • Minimum of 8 - 10 years of experience in a senior financial management position.
  • Strong operational and strategic financial reporting skills.
  • Expert knowledge of financial statement preparation and cash management.
  • Excellent communication skills, both verbal and written.
  • Ability to meet deadlines.
  • Maintain a team-oriented environment of direct reports.
  • Adapt quickly to a rapidly changing environment.
  • Exhibit excellent PC skills, specifically spreadsheets.
  • Demonstrate excellent analytical skills and attention to detail.
  • Display excellent time management, organizational and problem solving skills.
  • Demonstrated ability to perform a number of complex tasks simultaneously and delegate effectively.
  • Demonstrated ability to interact effectively with all corporate personnel.
  • Demonstrated judgement and decision making ability.
  • Experience working with NetSuite (preferred) or similar system.
  • Must have ability to work independently, initiate actions, plan and supervise effectively obtaining desired results.
  • Excellent math aptitude, problem solving, financial analysis, attention to detail, and open communications are required.
  • Advanced knowledge of all finance functions including experience with software capitalization and related revenue recognition rules.
  • Advanced knowledge of all aspects of financial analysis and reporting requirements including developing and maintaining spreadsheets, financial projections and reporting.
  • Advanced proficiency in Microsoft Excel, Outlook and Power Point.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
  • BS or BBA in Finance/Accounting required.
  • A CPA is preferred and an MBA is desired.
